Eating out is an art and a science, both which are not a strength of mine.
I ordered the massaman curry, and brown rice ( which is an up charge) and ginger tea. Average at best, I did ask for peanuts to add some flavor, it just wasn’t as tasty as expected. So many options on the menu. My opportunity is to ask better questions and check reviews. Friendly people.

Their pad Thai tastes like it’s trying to be spaghetti. Not even a hint of tamarind paste.

Pacific Thai Cuisine is a really nice restaurant for Thai food. They have a nice menu for drinks and food. Service is very friendly and attentive. Food comes out freshly prepared and hot, except when it’s not supposed to be served hot. Portions are ample, often providing opportunity to take some home except for those with the most hearty appetites.

Vegetarian options: Like many Thai restaurants, many dishes can be made vegetarian

Dietary restrictions: Able to find vegetarian and gluten free options

Parking: Monterey parking

Kid-friendliness: Kids fine

Wheelchair accessibility: Non motorized front door.

WOW! I’ve had Thai food almost everywhere I’ve traveled to (even in Thailand) because it is the most offered SE Asian food. Pacific Thai is as authentic as it gets. The person down there that compared it it Zab za Thai does not have good taste for Thai food. I’ve been to both and Pacific Thai Cuisine is WAYYYYY BETTER in prices, portion and taste. Their thai tea can use some work though.

I was really looking forward to trying the chicken panang curry and tofu pad Thai here, but unfortunately, both were really bland and disappointing. The panang curry was thin, with overcooked chicken that lacked the rich flavor I expected. The pad Thai also had no flavor, and no one asked if I wanted it spicy or not. Super bummed! I will say the staff was friendly, which I appreciated, but the food didn’t live up to expectations.

We came to Monterey to enjoy my husband’s b-day. Had dinner here and it was awful. The papaya salad had a strange taste, the pad thai was all wrong. Pasty noodles, seafood tasted bad/old, spring rolls lacked flavor and they didn’t have spice trays. Something in the food tasted bitter. I only ate a few bite, but after I returned to my hotel room, I had horrible gas and stomach ache. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want a decent meal-go to Zab Zab for Thai food instead. Way too expensive for cafeteria food.

Overpriced and mediocre. The 28 dollar salmon curry probably contained about 5 dollars of salmon, 50 cents of carrots, 25 cents of beans, 15 cents of sauce, and like 10 cents worth of orange. That's over 350% markup. Also, dish could easily be prepared at home.

The Pad Thai was mediocre and bland - the waitress never checked on us after we sat down (I had to hunt her down ask for more water).

Food was nasty! WAY too expensive for what they offer. Tasted like frozen or canned vegetables. Definitely frozen shrimp! Two blocks from the ocean..... Don't waste your money or time. All four of us at the same table feel the same way.

This thai place was amazing! The food was delicious and the service was very fast. We got our food about 10 minutes after ordering. I definetly recommend the drunken noodles. The restaurant was a little dirty but overall it is a great place to eat in Monterrey.

Vegetarian options: There are tofu options for almost every item on the menu and there are many vegetarian options.

Dietary restrictions: If u tell them about your allergies or dietary restrictions they will take it into account when making the food.

Parking: There is no parking near the restaurant. I had to park a block away.

Kid-friendliness: This is a very kid friendly place as there are many options for the kids such as chicken satay.

They do not advertise gluten free items on their menu but if you mention your food allergy, the staff will gladly point out what you can and cannot eat. I got the spicy seafood green curry and it was absolutely delicious. Super flavorful and just the right amount of spice. Portions are decent. Not too large, not too small. My husband got the green curry with chicken and he loved it. Prices are what they are, being in Pacific Grove and tourist season, at that. We got out with waters, one large beer, two curry dishes and two rice sides for $72. But the food was worth it and I packed my leftovers. It was that good.
