I honestly came here as a last option, since we were in a hurry and all other other places were much more expensive or closed. But I was very impressed! The food was so delicious and the service was very fast. Not to mention that it was very reasonably priced.

A genuine Mexican restaurant, the usual variety of dishes...I had the Carne Asada Burrito, my wife had hard tacos...excellent service, a great experience!

This is the place you cannot miss in PG or on your trip to Monterey. No - it’s not your baize seafood restaurant. It’s where every local goes. I should know. I never go back home without stopping here and you MUST MUST have the smoked Gouda quesadilla- nothing else compares!

Some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had.... we should have walked out when we saw it was full of old people! No offense I love old folks but they don't exactly have the best taste buds. I ordered a smoked Gouda quesadilla and it had olives and other random vegetables in it. My family's food was very flavorless as well, we had to put salt on it to taste anything. It's quite unfortunate because it was a cute place with a good location. I have to say that the service was 5 stars, our waiter was extremely nice and accommodating.

First time here and was delighted
The food was great. Portions were big so we shared the entrees. Very generous with the chips and salsa.

Definitely a surprise, laid-back vibes, great prices for the large portions. Most of us couldn't finish our dishes, which says a lot about the portions. Everything felt fresh, with great flavors and great service. Best of all, they had a solid selection of vegetarian options.

We've loveed Peppers and have been going there for years. Unfortunately the service is inconsistent. Our server left us alone and never checked back. We'd wanted a dessert and another drink, but decided against it because we couldn't get the server to pay attention to us. This is the 2nd time this has happened. Either add staff or pay attention to customers. Sigh.

I was very disappointed , I ordered 2 Chile rellenos , I come here often , I a true local . The rellenos had canned peppers . It was loaded with onions , big chunks but hardly any peppers. My girl friend enjoyed her meal but she ordered something else .plus it got me sick to my stomach for 2 days . I will go back I will get something else MAYBE

We recently traveled to Pacific Grove and stayed for five days. While we were there, we ate at several restaurants and liked most of them. But the only one we went to more than once was Peppers Mexicali Cafe on Forest Ave.

With so many great dining choices available in town, you may ask: why Peppers? Well, we'll tell you why: Peppers has, BY FAR, the best Mexican food we have ever tasted. The food is very fresh and flavorful (the beef fajitas are out of this world!). The service we received from Ryan and Fiona was excellent, as they were both very attentive and friendly. It was also evident that a lot of people feel the same as us since the restaurant and bar were always full of diners and people waiting for tables.

Over the years, we have always planned most of our vacations in coastal California towns (Coronado, La Jolla, Laguna Beach, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and now Pacific Grove). And in each of these towns, we have always found a favorite restaurant that we make sure we dine at whenever we're there. In Pacific Grove, that restaurant is Peppers Mexicali Cafe.

Been coming to this place for over 20 years and I still have not found a better Mexican restaurant. Fabulous food, great portions, friendly staff, and good prices. The blood orange margaritas are on point!!
