The chicken was alright but it's not a whole chicken that you'll receive. It's drummettes and wings put into a box. The price of their chicken is overpriced for the small pieces that are given. What is also sad is that nothing is included other than the chicken. I did order jap chae Korean glass noodles that were terrible. Overall this was a waste of money.
Great Korean fried chicken and beer place. Amazing flavors with no frills menu. The spices are fantastic. Definitely going back again!
Yang nyum chicken is soooo good. My husband and I have been looking for KFC to replace Orchard City Kitchens KFC since moving down here from San Jose. It's definitely pricy for how much you get. Like 3x the price of OCK. But great stuff.
Was excited to try since i love the places in SJ that do Korean sttle fried chicken. I ordered the lunch combo which the owner recomended. The Bulgogi was terrible not even bulgogi really grey meat slivers with onions and a tiny portion. Then three verrrry small wings all drummettes and NOT AUTHENTIC Korean tasting at all. This was a huge let down and i wasnt even full by the end. Came with scoop of rice and coleslaw wtf. Why why why. Could have had a little kimchi at least but coleslaw!? I paid $16 and the portion was sad. Litterally like 4 total oz of meat thank god for the rice... Who is rating it so high? They must have a huge family. Worst experience in a while.
Loved the soduck soduck, tasty fries, and of course fried chicken
Excellent chicken and our waitress was really nice.
I don't think this is a legit Ttobongee anymore. The quality was so bad that I honestly won't go back ever again. Our half and half was all wings, drumettes, and a couple of regular legs. It is supposed to be cut up pieces of the whole chicken. The change in French fries is also obvious and were served cold. Unbelievable. Never going back and that's a shame because I really love yang nyum chicken that I used to eat in Korea. **Edited to remove reference to food source speculation, but i stand by what I said above that the fries and regular fried chicken taste different from when you first opened.
First time trying Korean fried chicken.. and WOW it was delicious!! To drink I had Soju strawberry flavored, which is a beer sized bottle with 13% alcohol. I highly recommend this restaurant plus they have a really friendly staff and atmosphere. Will be coming back with friends, family and coworkers.. its a must try food!
I was looking for Korean fried chicken and came upon this place...still can't believe there is such a place here. Called in an order so I can go in, pay and leave. It was gonna take 20 minutes which was fine since I was 10 minutes out. This is a must so you don't end up waiting too long for your order especially when it gets super busy. Customer Service: Pleasant Price: Expensive Food Quality: Excellent, NO visible feathers and NO smelly chicken essence that sometimes accompanies this foul. Taste: Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!! The original flavor was very tasty and seasoned just right, spice heat was mild. The yang nyum flavor was sweet with a mild spicy sticky taste. Will definitely return when the craving arises.
It was our first time here, my friend and I really enjoyed the lunch specials. The service was great - super fast and ever so friendly. Will definitely be back soon!
Classic, mom and pop Korean chicken place. Reminded us a lot of our trips to Korea. A happy spot
Really incredible fried chicken! Worth coming to Pacific Grove for! I love the boneless, all the flavors are excellent. One might be inclined to get cheaper chicken somewhere else like Wingstop or Buffalo Wild Wings, but they'd be making a mistake! The breading is very light and well done here! Not like cheaper chains where it's overly-breaded and poorly-fried! Randomly ordered French fries here and they were some of the best I've had too. Also loved the kimchi and other pickled vegetable.
Great Korean fried chicken. Crispy, juicy and amazingly seasoned.
Ttobongee is a true KFC (Korean Friend Chicken) which is always cooked to order and I recommend eating it there and not have it be delivered. You'll get the crunchiest and delicious chicken there. Since they cook everything to order, yes, it will take a while - they will tell you it may take up to 30 minutes, depending on how many orders they are cooking ahead of yours. So, if you are starving, I recommend ordering something like shrimp chips or something - I promise it's well worth the wait!!! If you are new to Korean fried chicken, try their "original" first. It is not aggressivly seasoned yet it has a kick.
