My kids love sushi, so we decided to stop by this place on our way to Monterey. I ordered sushi, a California roll, fried chicken... and finished with ice cream for dessert. Everything was very satisfying. The side miso soup was a nice touch, helping with digestion and adding to the overall experience. The server was polite and attentive. After the meal, I felt comfortable and full the whole day.

Went here with a group of four after visiting the aquarium. My yellowtail rolls were great and everyone enjoyed their meals. Good variety of things to order. We were given cold glasses to pour our beers in. The market price fatty tuna was also enjoyed at our table.

I am altering my review based on my most recent encounter. The choices on the sushi combo plate are chefs choice. There were no lovely tuna or salmon pieces- just a bunch of scaly, skin covered, or nasty fish pieces that no one wants. They up charge to put anybody the normal things in there, and they’ve even remodeled are very rude about all of it.

Best yellowtail I’ve ever had! Huge portions for nigiri and rolls and very well priced too. Croquettes were delicious. Red Tiger roll was a standout to me. Actually spicy too! Will be back for sure.

Not what I thought we'd be eating in Monterey, but it was perfect! We were craving good, fresh fish. This place was chill, good prices, and super cozy. We could even walk from Cannery Row. Sat outside by the fire pits. We had the Spiderman Special, XXX Special and Seaside Special Rolls, and then added the Hamachi Lover Special Roll at the end! We were Special Stuffed ☺️ A nice cold Sapporo beer. The spicy edemame sounds better than it is.
The specialty rolls were amazing. Recommend the Hawaiian Roll and the Red Tiger Roll. Great beer and sake selection as well.

Visited Zum Sushi for thr first time. The staff are awesome, very friendly and they take the time to get to know you. I enjoyed the Sake, the food and the atmosphere. Plus I got my special sake cup which is stored on the display shelf with my name !!!. How awesome is that 😍
