Bolare Trattoria & Pizzeria

This was my first visit to this storefront Trattoria. While this isn't an attractive venue, it is quite comfortable. All the white tablecloth tabletops make it warm and welcoming. The food is well prepared. There is an ample menu. The caprese salad, Pollo Saltimbocca, and limoncello cake were fantastic. All portions are very generous. Except for the cake. I could have eaten an entire cake, instead of just a slice! Our waiter, Eduardo, was attentive but never intrusive. I'll be back soon.

Delicious, good portion sizes, great service, nice atmosphere with romantic Italian restaurant music. Free parking. Good menu. What’s not to love?

We were shocked no one else was there on a Friday evening. We loved having the place to ourselves, but I do hope they will get the support they deserve and stay open.

I believe they were previously incarnated at Paisano’s before it burnt down. That place was always bustling. Little things were different, like Tony Bennet type playlist and original art on the walls. Those were nice touches, but if people went for the food, and I believe they did, they will still love it! Same chef!

Vegetarian options: They have always been very accommodating, and have veg options but also can modify recipes to leave out say the anchovies in the Puttanesca for instance.

Friendly, accommodating, and attentive staff. A friend really enjoys this restaurant and invited us to join her. Her favorite is the calamari and their spicy and warm sauce. The tiramisu is also very good. Parking was not an issue.

Everything was so good. Fresh made to order it was great!! We started with the minestrone soup. It was everything you expect a good minestrone to be. We then had the chicken Marsala, You could cut with your fork. Also had the homemade tortellini’s that were cooked perfectly with tons of crispy pancetta and mushroom in a flavorful cream sauce. We didn’t save room for dessert this time. NeXT time I’ll start there.

Don't order pizza online!
I ordered two very different pizzas online but they came out pretty much the same. First of all the platform was terrible. There is no info what each pizza contains so I picked topping I wanted and placed the order. Got there few minutes after order was supposed to be done and they started making the pizzas then. Crust was good compared to most bay area pizzas but that was it. There were a lot of toppings but many of them I didn't ask for. Second pizza was supposed to be all meat (photo attached) and it had olives, arugula, peppers, onions, mushroom and other things we did not want, and NO CHEESE. Clearly their system is too confusing for them to handle. Not going back.

While vacationing in the area we came across this restaurant. The place was small but the decor was beautiful. The service was impeccable! We ordered wine and our server brought us over some samples so we could determine which we liked the best. We ordered a kids spaghetti, Hickey Pizza and the Fratoria salad. I wasn't a fan of the spaghetti but everything else was a hit! So delicious!

We went there with friends for the first time, and the food was excellent! We had pizza which was very good; my friend had gnocchi and this was THE best I've ever had. The gnocchi was pillowy and tender, just fantastic. I can't recall what my other friend had but the experience was wonderful. Nice and attentive staff. Couldn't ask for better!

I wasn't too hungry. I ordered soup & garlic bread. It was good.
For dessert, tiramisu & coffee. I put a lot of creamer in the coffee. It did not lighten up. I tasted it. It's my belief it was at least from yesterday! I put it aside & ordered milk instead.
I still had the old coffee on the tab! My morning coffee was much better than this one. I was really disappointed.

I can't recommend this place enough! Living nearby means I've tried just about everything on the menu, and I'm yet to be disappointed. The pizzas here are a slice above the rest—always fresh, with perfectly crispy crusts and loaded with generous toppings. The staff are super friendly and genuinely care about providing a great dining experience. Plus, the cozy atmosphere makes it a great spot for both a quick bite or a leisurely dinner. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by—you won't regret it!

Ridiculous excuse for a restaurant. The spaghetti was hard...not al dented firm, but undercooked hard. The garlic bread was cheap bread with barely any garlic. We were the only 2 people on the restaurant for the hour. That included no take out pizza orders and no door dash orders. My wife's food came out 10 min before mine with garlic bread coming out 10 min after my food. On the large screen tv was family feud and on the speaker was italian version of Kids Bop music. Not Sinatra or Jerry Vale, but some kids bop stuff. It was so bad that we had a great time talking and laughing about it
