Gorilla BBQ is my absolute favorite! The flavors are consistently delicious, and you can taste the quality in every bite. Just a heads up—they close when they sell out, so it's always best to get there early. Whether you’re craving ribs, brisket, or anything off their menu, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend for anyone who loves great BBQ!

Absolutely amazing! ! I bought seasonings and T-shirts too! !
Decent ribs terrible and I mean terrible Mac and Cheese. Cornbread was also dry. Ribs had no sauce it was just rub which im not complaining but add some damn bbq or something to em. Mac and cheese felt like if someone digested their mac and cheese and then shat it right into my mouth.

This ain't a sit down place. Grab your food and go. After a long hike, this is a perfect spot to replenish with some great BBQ.

We've been coming here periodically for over a decade and I can say with high confidence that the quality has been consistently degrading. The first time we came, we found the portions huge and the meat fresh and tender. The flavor was phenomenal, the prices reasonable, and the hours convenient.
Now they are only open three days a week. We arrived 30 minutes after opening on a Friday presuming that we will get the freshest possible meat. Instead we found the brisket very dry and flavorless and the portion quite small for an unreasonable price. The ribs were huge, but under-done and lacking flavor (all you could taste was pork fat). The BBQ sauce tasted old. Pasta in the Mac & Cheese was over-cooked and the flavor was over-powered by the spices/rub mixed-in.
Plus, as you can see from the menu from 2017, they've gotten rid of the combo platters to streamline the menu. But it makes ordering a decent variety for a small number of people impractical.
We no longer plan to make lunch at Gorilla a central part of our day trips up to Pacifica from Mountain View...not worth it anymore, especially with it being 100% take-out.

Stopped in today, Friday afternoon, to check out the DDD hype. Sadly we missed out on the sold out brisket so we ordered the half rack of ribs and potato salad. The ribs blew our minds. They’re that good, (amazingly generous portions) super tender, smoky, and completely falls clean off the bone. The only thing missing is a side pickles to offset the rich bbq. Also the potato salad was more of a mashed potato texture, I was hoping for a traditional style with chunky potatoes and higher acidity. Again, just craving some kind of acid or brightness to offset. Even a mustard based Carolina BBQ sauce would work. Overall, Gorilla BBQ stands up to the hype. Very pleasantly surprised!

Update 7/24: We were able to get a half BBQ chicken before it sold out last weekend. THE BBQ CHICKEN IS THE BEST!! So tender, well seasoned but not salty, juicy, just perfect. I usually don’t like to eat with my hands but had no shame devouring this chicken without any utensils at home. It’s that good. Next time we will order a WHOLE CHICKEN :) Still wish they’d offer some kind of pickled side… 3-bean salad, bread & butter chips, dill spears, etc. It would take this experience to the next level.

It's a take away but the food is just so good. I had the brisket and it was real tender. Médium potatoe salad is a great side which really complimented the meat

Ribs 5/5, brisket 3/5. Honestly the ribs are just exceptional and usually available as people seem to come for the brisket. Perfect level of smoke and balance in texture. Fallsoff the bone but still holds up. Grab someCorn bread and slaw.Pulled pork is solid as well.Having family in Texas, the brisket doesn’t compare to down south. Found it to be dry and a little tough.Incredible bbq sauce. Cool smoker setup out of a train car. Great place to grab a bite after hiking at Mori Point.

Excellent food! Fast and cheerful service out of a caboose railcar! Wish they were open more days (weekend only at present) and no seating, so plan on take out. Our favorite San Francisco Bay Area barbecue! We eat on nearby beach!
