Describe this place in one word: "Delightful"!!! ?? If you know tea, you know that the different varieties of flavors are more subtle than coffee. So it takes a little longer to learn what flavor matches your mood and pallet. Lovey's Tea Shoppe doesn't have the thousands of different teas available, but what they do have on hand (maybe 40 different varieties), should suit most people. It's not a stuffy, formal atmosphere, more light and quaint, and welcome drop-ins. The staff are wonderfully friendly and very helpful if you're not sure what you want.Lovey's is focused on English style tea, which means scones, cucumber sandwiches, and crumpets. They do a traditional English afternoon tea service which looks enticing! I'll have to come back for that for sure! This time around, I just did tea and a scone. I was surprised to find the scone (wasn't) what I expected: dry, very dry. No! Their scones are moist and utterly delicious!!! The tea I chose: Royal Blend, was...scrumptious, would be the word I'd use!!! They describe it as a black tea with a subtle bouquet of vanilla and grenadine. The aroma was sublime!!!If you like English style tea, you'll love Lovey's Tea Shoppe!!!Highly recommend!!!

This is one of me and my wife's favorite places to go in the whole world. You can either reserve a spot online for one of their "tea parties" for indoor dining, or walk in and order to eat at their eclectic and sweet patio. They have many different kinds of in-house tea blends, including black, green, white, decaf, and herbal. They offer lots of delicious tea foods, that are served in their different dainty teacups and trays.Additionally it functions a bit of an antique and locally sourced store, where they sell lots of tea sets, cups, wares, and their offerings from the menu in small jars.I cannot reccomend Lovey's enough for an occasion of any kind, they are friendly to all groups as I have seen kid's parties as well as corporate groups come together and receive exquisite service fron their kind and attentive staff that work to form one of the best experiences you will ever have.

What a cool little tea house right on PCH. Incredible loose and bagged tea selection with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Yes, the homemade scones are delicious! Indoor and outdoor seating. A great place to treat yourself or find great gifts. Don’t drive by it, it’s worth stopping.

Came here with my partner to get some teas to-go on our way to the skatepark . The inside is filled with stuff my Mom & Grandma would love, including the atmosphere which hits a nostalgic chord for me. Both of our teas were great and the owner provided FREE Oat milk! Why is that not standard? They do things properly here, I say.

Very cute and cozy (read: tiny) tea shop serving high tea in Pacifica. You book a tea time online for Fridays, Saturdays, and occasionally on Thursdays or Sundays (depending on time of year). There are usually 2 seatings: 11:00am and 2:00pm. And it's typically $50 for 4 savory tea sandwiches, green salad mix, scone with clotted cream and jam, buttered crumpet, and one sweet from a selection of cookies or mini-cakes--taxes and gratuity included in the $50.The sandwiches are fine--nothing spectacular or particular: a thin slice of roast beef with horseradish mayo, cucumber and cream cheese, cheddar and apple, and I think there was a smoked salmon one. The scone by far was the star--we had a choice of currant or lemon ginger. Warm and very tender, paired perfectly with the clotted cream and raspberry jam. The crumpet was OK--a bit tough and could have risen a bit more. The cookie from the sweets selection was a standard sugar cookie that had cute decorations. Tea selection was pretty extensive. I enjoyed my jasmine green tea, but my companion thought her Darjeeling was a bit weak. The interior is charming, like grandma's parlor with its wallpaper print and ceramic tea ware. It's a quite a small space, which probably could fit about 10-12 people in total. The value is pretty good! No one left feeling hungry, and we enjoyed our time there, nibbling and sipping and conversing. Would definitely come back for small group outings!

Quaint place to escape the rat race and enjoy some amazing teas and scones (or finger sandwiches, etc.). Was treated like I was one of the family!

A cute, quaint place to have afternoon tea in Pacifica right off the Coastal Highway 1. I've been to the SF location and used to frequent the Redwood City until they closed August 2021. Glad to have an opportunity to bring a friend to enjoy a relaxing treat:Tea sandwiches * Cucumber with Dill Cream Cheese * Roast Beef & Horseradish * Bay Shrimp & Mayonnaise * Green Apple w/ Cheddar & Marionberry Jamdelicious scones, crumpet and finish off with a sweet treat of spiced petit four. So happy to know the owner, Gina who operated the Redwood City location own this cute spot! Always accommodating with my online orders, responsive, hospitable and very friendly. There was another person there helping today and she was so sweet and explained everything as items served. Thank you! :)Pricing reasonable and highly recommend a stop to enjoy simple and light, yet satisfying treats...items are available to go with tea packages and scones available online. Plan ahead and make it a trip to Pacifica for afternoon tea, peruse Downtown, walk the Municipal Pier, or go for a 1.5 tour of Mazza Castle about 10 mins away. You'll learn some local history and see some wonderful views. Make arrangements for tea and the tour online beforehand :)

After seeing the owner respond so quickly and reading the response; thinking back upon my travels and being told by servers that Americans have an abroad reputation as "serving ware" thieves that think they are entitled to these "souvenirs", I can understand why the trackable reservation may be required for the dainty cups and pots in the ritual, I revised my review to a neutral 3 because it should have been made clear before I ordered that it was being served in "to go" paper cups, as I would not have ordered if I knew that. As an alternative, I suggest one try the restaurant ware stores on Clement street in San Francisco, there one can find reasonable nice simple ceramic cups and pots for general use in house. Paper cups really taint the taste as well as the experience.the original review below...Disappointing experience - I have never in the hundreds of tea houses I have dined in all over the world and locally, both english style and asian, had "dine in/for here" tea served in a paper cup. What is the point of that for sit down dine in tea. Tea served at a table should be properly served in an actual ceramic cup, it does not have to be a dainty one, but not in a paper cup where the paper cup can be tasted in the teas. The irony is that there are, in this tea dive, hundreds of fancy used ceramic and porcelain tea cups for sale. When my tisane came, it was in a paper cup and when I told the server the tea was ordered "for here", obviously, I received an extremely curt reply stating I had to reserve online for the entire tea service if i wanted a proper tea experience with real cups... Um... so I cannot just walk in the almost completely empty tea house and have a proper cup of tea with just a scone... What I received was bagged tea in a paper cup, just like you would get at a fast food place. Hello, don't call yourself a tea house if you cannot do tea right. I wish I could say the tea was good, but it was not as the light tisane tasted like paper cup.

The scones are to die for. The tea with milk and some sugar tastes perfectly. And the service is very accommodating. The walk-up menu order is different from the full tea service that requires reservation in advance. Didn't know that, being the first time there on my mum's request. What would Alice think of this place, one wonders?
