Fantastic Japanese experience at Sushi Kashiwa! The sushi was incredibly fresh, and each bite was packed with flavor. The ambiance feels authentic and cozy, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back for more delicious sushi!?

Although it's located in an unassuming plaza Sushi Kashiwa is positioning itself to be the premium sushi spot in the area. However, we still had mixed reviews about our experience. We ordered their 11pc omakase and uni toro handroll. Some of the nigiri tasted bland which was disappointing. The uni toro handroll was good but more toro flavor than uni. I didn't realize they had some ongoing house specials - "The Toast" would definitely have been something we'd order.
Food aside.. the service was pretty good. We had a couple of hiccups that were swiftly addressed. They're still doing a promotion for 15% off dine-in only as of today 21SEP2024.

Great sushi at a good price for the lunch special. Service was prompt and the atmosphere was nice.
Parking: A few dedicated spaces in front of the building.

I have supreme sushi box. It is so good and fresh. My kids also love ramen and roll. I recommend to try supreme sushi box if you are the first time in here. You won’t regret.

Ordered the karaage, two rolls, and the mini negitoro bowl.
The karaage was hot and juicy, and the batter was seasoned with cumin. It's a pretty unique take compared to most karaage you'd find, so you might either love it or hate it.
The rolls (lion king, and another) were pretty standard saucy American sushi fare, though the torched salmon stood out.
The negitoro bowl stole the show though - it was quite expensive for the portion, but the minced tuna was perfectly fatty, and the sushi rice was well seasoned and just the right temp.
Will have to come back and try some of their more traditional pieces.

The food here is so fresh and well-prepared! I always find the staff to be friendly and welcoming as well. I'm so thankful a high-quality sushi restaurant opened right where I live. This has become my new regular spot for lunch and dinner. It never disappoints!

So I cannot be 100% certain that the food was the culprit, but all I know is that about 30 mins after eating lunch here (sashimi and then udon), I started feeling very bloated, and then about 90 minutes after I was feeling very nauseous, and then a soon thereafter I projectile vomited until my stomach was empty. Sorry to be so graphic. Nothing in my stomach except the lunch because that’s all I had eaten that day. Could have been something else, could have been an off day for them, but all I can say is what happened,. And after that experience, I cannot imagine going back. Was clean, nice enough place with brisk service (esp sushi chef who would not even look at us), udon was not so flavorful and pretty bare bones in terms of ingredients (udon, broth, carrots, etc). Sorry, but I can only share what my experience was.

Tl;dr - if you drive by and see a parking spot, go in and order the fried green beans.
Parking is difficult. They share a small lot with a convenience store and a kinder school, and they do NOT share all the parking spots. The sushi flavors were okay but I'm a harsh critic on that end. The fried green beans are freakin' delicious, they include crispy red onion strips, it was like the bloomin' onion but less greasy.
This is a spot I would have as a "let's roll by and see if there's parking" but have a plan B if there's no open spot.
Also the salmon katsu portion my husband ordered was giant; crispy but still moist inside. He ate half and took the rest home because we got full snacking on the super yummy fried green beans.

this is a newly opened sushi place around Pacifica. the food was delicious. i love how they were not skimpy in the truffle. the sashimi was really fresh with many twist in flavors. just a heads up if you choose to go. the parking is really tough. they only have 6 dedicated spots for the restaurant with one being a Handicap parking. I did had a problem with them. One of my friends made a reservation but i got there first, they were being rude because i wasn’t the one who made the reservation. i don’t know if it was miscommunication but i spoke english and chinese to the workers and boss. but when my friend got their they decided to be all nice.

Service was good, staff all very friendly, but sashimi was gag worthy. Rice was undercooked.
