We ordered a beef fajita to share as dinner, the portion size is perfect for what we were looking for. It smelled so good, but we found some of the beef pieces were not tender. Got an extra order of tortillas, those are very fresh and excellent. Our server was friendly and very efficient. The place was very busy, we were able to get in and out so we could enjoy the rest of our evening.
First night in Desert Palms, decided on Mexican food. Lots of places but this had “common” items. Ate in the back patio and it was perfect, more room, quieter and nice atmosphere. Split a margarita with my wife and the served it in two glasses. I ordered enchiladas and she had a carnitas burrito. Hers was good and mine was one of best I’ve ever had. A guitarist went from table to table playing and singing. Service was prompt and friendly Wonderful meal.
Atmosphere on outside deck was comfortable and the wait staff were all courteous and helpful. Drinks were great and reasonably priced. Food was all hot (temp), delicious, and served in a timely manner. Would definitely recommend this place!!
Stopped in for drinks and ended up ordering dinner (fajitas). This place was packed with locals which is a good sign. A little loud in the dining room but food and service were great. We will be back.
We were looking for a Mexican restaurant that had good service and good food. This is a good choice. Their menu has all the classic Mexican dishes and the service was very good.
Stay away from this place. Absolutely unbelievably expensive. 2 small margs and a small Fajita was US$85.00. No cutlery. No napkin. They should be ashamed. But the good news is if you want to enjoy this over priced fare at the court viewing side they only charge you another $100 per person. FA on 111 used to be our favourite Mexican restaurant but I will not go back there even. Greedy poor quality gouging should not be rewarded. Shame On them and shame on Indian Wells for charging merchants so much that they need to price themselves out of business. Bunch of jerks.
There always seems to be a line up when I drove by and when we went to dinner. The food is very good but the house Margarita is very strong and I would suggest you only have one, especially if you are driving. It seem like a place the locals hang out. Try to sit in the bar section for a shorter wait.
Had heard all the hype and had to try their famous house margarita. Simply put it was not enjoyable. The pride themselves on making these strong, very strong. If your goal is to get drunk, you've found Mecca. They limit the number of drinks per person to two because it's really enough alcohol for 4 or 5 drinks. Margaritas are designed to be refreshing and to compliment Mexican cuisine not overpower the palate. There are too many other Mexican restaurants in the valley to return to this overhyped tequila dispensary.
We were looking for get-down, local, unfussy, and good Mexican food, and (thanks to some advice from Redditors) made our way to Fresh Agave, and it was EXACTLY that. Great grub, a totally local bar scene, the friendliest and most attentive service. Of particular note: Yeesh, do they make strong margaritas! If you want yours a bit more on the conventional side - that is, a little more agave and triple sec, to balance the punch of the tequila and lime - ask to get your drink with “training wheels.”
Great place, great food and great service

Great food. Super margaritas. Fun atmosphere. Great waiters. Fast service. Fabulous churros and flan.
We were seated promptly and our waiter was at the table immediately. My wife ordered guacamole for an appetizer. Chips and salsa were brought too. Chips were fresh and salsa was spicy. Our food was delivered quickly which pleased the teenager as you can never fill them up! His tacos were perfect. My shrimp tacos were very good too. Oh, and very good margaritas! Just what we were looking for.
The food and service were very good here but I found the margaritas kind of bitter. We sat outside and enjoyed the misters that cooled us.
The food and drinks were great, but you pay a premium price. Two margaritas, two dinner plates (not lobster), and one dessert was $90. Eat outside if you can. Inside was very noisy.
We agree with other reviews in that the food was only OK. My margarita was not great either. Our server was very nice and attentive, but this place didn’t really stand out. We walked El Paseo after dinner and saw many other restaurants with better atmosphere that we wished we had tried.
