I was quite surprised as this isn't the typical decor of a Mexican restaurant. The surprise was how good the food was. I had the combination shredded beef taco and cheese enchilada. The taco shell was homemade, and combined with the shredded beef was very good. The enchilada had a great flavor and wasn't drowned in sauce. The chips were hot and fresh, and the salsa was well blended and had a nice flavor. The restaurant was clean, and the service was exceptional.

After a full day exploring Joshua Tree, we stumbled upon Carmen’s Place and couldn’t have picked a better spot for dinner! The portions were huge, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service made us feel right at home. It’s the perfect way to end a desert adventure. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!

You can really tell that the owners and staff care about this restaurant. It's clean, care is taken with the quality and presentation of the food, and the staff seem happy and invested. Truly enjoyed our experience here. Oh, and the gueritos were delicious, as were the margaritas!

Food was great. Reminded me of a classic family run Mexican restaurant. I went there while in town for business and it wasn't very busy. Very friendly staff, but the food was the highlight; much better than average. Don't go here on a diet. A lot of food for very reasonable prices. Salsa is always the first impression and it doesn't disappoint.

Went here for lunch with some friends. I got a modelo michelada that was better than other restaurants I have had. I also got the large shrimp cocktail and they did not short me on the shrimp. Waitress was attentive and nice. I plan on going back soon.

I have stopped in here twice. And both times I left after waiting and waiting to get my takeout order. They might have 35 seats but the kitchen can only put out 30 meals. Someone is gonna wait. Bad news, 2 times is has been me. The issue is, they have more phone orders than patrons in the restaurant. The place could be empty and you still might wait until your ticket comes up behind phone orders.
