The restaurant was quite busy and our server was overloaded with customers. Otherwise she was very good and professional and polite.

Ordered the Chili Verde burrito tonight and it was very good, some of the best tasting Verde that I have had in quite some time. The house margarita had a wonderful flavor and the service was great. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Went there because wife had been there 3 nights prior for the first time and she had loved it and it was big enough so our two little ones (2&3.5 yo) could run around if needed to. Place is huge and friendly, lots of TVs with sports on them (our 3.5 yo screamed football and ran to one table) and when you see Spanish speakers there in large numbers ordering and enjoying the food you know the food is delish and authentic. We weren’t disappointed! First place we didn’t have to ask for spicy salsa (that means if you don’t like spicy you’re in trouble gringo lol) and they were generous with their helpings while we waited. The large side of guacamole was enough for 3 hungry adults and two little ones, the steak fajitas were generous in portion with lots of well cooked vegetables and well seasoned to boot. Grilled first tacos were really flavorful and not just a fish stick either. ??????
Sorry we were too hungry to take pictures of the food when it arrived (not late btw it was just kids that were distracting us as well). The margarita was strong and yummy to boot.

Update
So my wife and I went back for a late lunch without the kiddos this time and we both had margaritas instead of me sampling hers like last time. She’s gone there a total of 3 times and I’ve been there now twice. I’m just going to suggest avoiding their house tequila and order yourself a branded one. There’s a bitterness in their house tequila brands that at first my wife attributed to the Skinny mix (1st time she went), empty stomach (2nd time) but after yesterday she was left nauseous and I had a massive headache lasting for about 5 hours post drink (we both had only one large margarita each),,so there’s definitely something with their house tequila that we won’t be ordering again.. the service and food we’re still excellent and their spicy salsa is amazing

We dine in at the Palm Desert location several times a month. Our go to is their fajitas. When we dine in we usually have pretty good service, their take out service is in need of improvement. 8 out of 10 take out meals have been wrong. They forget to put the sour cream and guacamole with the fajitas. They have given us half of our order and half of another order. They have forgotten our drinks…we joke when we get our order, what did we get tonight!? It’s actually pretty frustrating now. We went back once to tell them our order was missing food they wanted to charge us extra. That’s a big NO!! When we ordered, the person taking our order repeated the order and it was correct and then charged us accordingly. The manager told the hostess she had to pay out of her pocket for the change to our order!! That’s a hard NO!!! I have tried to get an email for the owner, I have called the restaurant hoping to speak with the owner…no such luck. We do like their food but they do need to improve their services.

We brought guest from out of town to dine on Saturday night at Casa Mendoza in Palm Desert. We arrived at 6:30 and the left side of the restaurant had one table sat and we were the second table. It took 30 minutes to get our drinks and a highchair. it took an additional 30 minutes to get our order taken. The food was subpar. The service was terrible additional drink orders took more than 30 minutes. People around us sat before and after did nothing but complain. We had to go to the front desk to get help because we weren’t being helped satisfactory. I made three attempts to call today to speak to the manager to come in about our experience. She never returned our call so I called this evening and her response was I apologize but if you don’t like it, go somewhere else. We’ve been coming there for the last year for special occasions and had nothing but wonderful experiences. I asked to speak to the owner they will not put me in touch with him. Overall, the experience last night was terrible in every way.

To start with the thing we liked, the salsa and freshly made chips were tremendous. Some of the best restaurant salsa we've ever had. Unfortunately, they were the only good things to pass my lips this afternoon at Casa Mendoza.

Where to begin? Ordered two crunchy tacos, because, who could screw up tacos, right? They were absolutely tasteless. I don't mean, they were low class tacos, with no taste in decor, I mean they had no discernable tase in my mouth. The chicken tasted like it had been boiled, or cooked in a solar camping cooker in the parking lot. It was aggressively bland.

The rice and beans tasted like Formula 409. Well, actually, I discovered it was just the rice. The beans didn't taste like Formula 409, because that would have meant they tasted like something. They didn't. And I think, to be fair, it wasn't Formula 409 in the rice, but rather vinegar? Vinegar in rice, got it.

I ordered some pink lemonade that was clear, but it tasted vaguely reminiscent of pink lemonade, so I'll give them that one. Our waiter was nice and friendly but a low-talker. Every time she left the table we looked at each other and said, " What did she say?"

We stopped here because it had the highest Google rating of any Mexican restaurant in the area. The spotlight review excerpt called it, 'The best Mexican food in the Coachella Valley." If that is true, God help you all.

It looks like there is more than one location for Casa Mendoza, so I should specify that we ate at the Palm desert location, the one on 111. But honestly, how could any version of this temple of mediocrity be palatable?

I'm not a restauranteur, so I can't give them any advice on how to improve, except to say maybe get rid of the 55 gallon drum of vinegar in the kitchen and replace it with some salt and pepper. Start there. Baby steps.

We love Casa Mendosa in La Quinta but the Palm Desert location is not as good. Chicken tacos is our go to dish. The beans and rice were good but the chicken in the tacos was not good at all, tough to eat. We told them about it they said srry barely and only offered us another lousy taco. We wont be back to that location but still love the Old Town La Quinta restaurant!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Casa Mendoza, and I must say, it was truly an amazing experience from start to finish. The restaurant exudes charm and warmth, making it the perfect setting for a delightful lunch.

The appetizers we ordered were nothing short of spectacular. The chilies Gueritos, mini chimichangas, and empanadas were bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. Each bite was a culinary delight that left us wanting more.

To accompany our meal, we decided to try the peach margarita, and it was a revelation! I had never tasted anything quite like it before, and now I can proudly say that I am officially a huge fan of this unique and refreshing cocktail.

As if our meal couldn't get any better, we finished with the fried ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending to an already fantastic dining experience.

I must also mention our server and bartender, Jonathan, who truly went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable evening. His friendly demeanor and impeccable service added an extra layer of enjoyment to our visit.
