We were immediately captivated by the aesthetics of the restaurant, which embraced a charming Japanese style. The diverse selection of sushi options was particularly appealing, offering a unique fusion of Mexican and Japanese flavors. However, while we were excited to try the miso soup, it was somewhat of a letdown; it was overloaded with green onions, which masked the traditional flavors, and the broth turned out to be saltier than we expected. On the positive side, the sushi itself was excellent, fresh, and bursting with flavor. Unfortunately, our dining experience was somewhat spoiled by the presence of fruit flies that flew around the table. On a brighter note, the service was impeccable. The servers were attentive and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

Been coming to the Dragon Sushi in Palm Desert for years. Today we were rudely told to take whatever seat we wanted. Our server asked if we wanted any appetizers, we named the first item and she split! I was like right in the middle of telling her what I wanted. She walked by about 5-7 minutes later, and said we wanted to add an appetizer. About 3 minutes later that appetizer comes out, and the waitress literally didn’t submit our first appetizer order. Several minutes later our first appetizer comes out. She then brings out the rolls, didn’t ask if we needed anything, like refills, another drink, extra napkins, wassabe just drops the rolls and bails. Now we’ve been coming here for years, and we’ve been to high end sushi restaurants, we’ve been treated better at dumps on Fremont street in Las Vegas. We had to ask another waiter to get our waitress to give us our bill, some 30 minutes after we finished eating. We’ve gone to Dragon Sushi in Indio, and have always been treated very well there. We will never darken these doors again, I guess you get what you pay for.

$49 per person for AYCE but it doesn't include any special rolls or sashimi. Steep price for limited options
Thought we would try this place while family was in town. We get sat at a table that was not set; had food smeared in the booths, and no napkins/chopsticks/plates on table.
Service, we asked for more napkins and soy sauce dishes; and they never brought them. Had to take them off of a nearby table.
My father orders a bento box lunch special. The teriyaki chicken was dry and un-edible. Food overall tasted old…. Even the edamame was overcooked and falling apart in your mouth.
Music choice was blaring 80’s pop music in a sushi restaurant.
Will not be coming back……

Terrible service.
Have been to Dragon Sushi 5 times, the last 3 times the “lunch special” sushi was bad, as soon I arrived home, I had the “Hershey Squirts”. Last visit I went with 3 friends, and we all had upset stomachs. I did ask all of them how do you feel? And they were all sick, all afternoon. Stay away from this place, is cheap, people eating around you look like freaks, not enjoyable. You have been warned.

Interior design was nice as was the wait staff. The sushi was ok.. The snapper was cut in such a way to include too much fat/gristle and the specialty spicy salmon roll was a neat idea, but their custom house sauce was lacking.

this place is really slow. I had to wait 20 minutes for two california rolls. then they just let my order sit on the counter until they was finish talking. First and last time coming here
For my daughter’s 19th we went to her favorite sushi restaurant Dragon Sushi. She wanted a sushi birthday cake and Jonathon from Dragon Sushi came up with an amazing sushi cake. It was excellent which fed all five of us for the main course. Excellent job by Jonathan. One more thing I wish to present. Jonathan rearranged his work schedule to accommodate us. The entire staff was very professional and made the evening a night to remember.

Nice looking place. Service seemed a little distracted, but understably so, Trump was rallying in Coachella just 1 city away.
Food felt rushed as many nigiri and hand rolls fell apart on contact. All in all, overpriced and underperformed.

Great spot. Staff was on top of everything. Only downside, roll wasn’t wrapped tight enough and with the sauce, Dangerous Girl, I kept losing 1/2 the rolls. Tasty but effort.

Ordered my food to go online at 3:03pm and the website stated it would take about 25 mins for my order to be ready. Perfect! I needed to be somewhere by 4pm and figured I can order online and pick up the food on my way over and still have lots of time to get to where I needed to be! After placing my order the time went from 25 mins to 30 mins. No big deal, five minutes, I can spare five extra minutes. I got to the restaurant about 3:24 and didn't expect the food to be ready because the the website stated 30 minutes. The restaurant wasn't empty, but there weren't many customers so I figured my food should be ready soon (because they weren't overwhelmingly busy). I sat there for about five minutes before someone acknowledged me (There were workers walking around but no one even looked in my direction until this point) and I told them I was here to pick up an order. They walked away and came back to tell me that I was just waiting on the sushi. Perfect! I sat and waited... and waited... and waited an extra twenty minutes. In the meantime I saw sushi being taken to table after table. I couldn't tell if there was just one person making sushi or what, but several other people got their sushi before mine even though I put my to go order up over forty minutes ago at this point. I only had one order of sushi while I saw people get several plates. I was beginning to get impatient. I was ready to tell them to cancel my order because I had somewhere to be (It was 3:50 now). I think the front girl noticed I was getting really impatient at this point because she came rushing over with my food and apologized for the long wait. I simply thanked her for the food and walked out.
Now, the food. The food was good. I got the Red Dragon Roll with Eel and it was delicious BUT the rolls fell apart pretty easy when I grasped them with my chopsticks. Made a huge mess and had to use my hands to eat them. It was messy. I also got the chicken teriyaki bowl and it was good. A fantastic balance of chicken with the veggies and rice but the chicken didn't have any flavor with the exception of the teriyaki sauce that I put on it (They did provide a good amount of sauce in the containers). They also gave me Miso soup that I DIDN'T order. Wasn't sure if this was some apology freebee kind of thing, but I didn't want it and gave it to one of the friends I was meeting up with. But I DIDN'T ask for anything free while I was waiting.
DO NOT use their online order if you're trying to pick up something on your way somewhere and you're tight on time. I would recommend to go and eat inside the restaurant. They have a good size parking lot, so parking is not an issue.

I had an amazing dining experience at Dragon Sushi in Palm Desert! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The menu offers an extensive variety of sushi rolls, and everything we ordered was fresh and beautifully presented.
The standout was the Dragon Roll—it was not only delicious but also an art piece on the plate! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the fish tasted incredibly fresh. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations that enhanced our meal.
Additionally, the service was prompt, and the overall vibe made for a relaxed yet exciting dining experience. If you’re a sushi lover or just looking to try something new, Dragon Sushi is a must-visit spot in Palm Desert! ?
