To be honest, the atmosphere isn't all that great, but the food and friendly service staff more than make up for it. This is not your run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant where everything tastes like the places down the street or around the corner. This place is different, with fresh and unique sauces and accommodations to help you customize your plate. It was worth the drive from Palm Springs, and there's no doubt that we'll be back.

This place is a hidden gem of PD!!!! Food was amazing and the servers were fantastic. DEFINITELY coming back. Recommend the birria and the pupusas!!!! Best pupusas I’ve ever had!

They have new management but it desert change the vibe. As a whole, they didn’t have lake portions, the entree went memorable and just not something. I would go aback to. There’s just better options.

The quesabirrias are very good, large and well filled. The cheese with chorizo is very good.
It's a pleasant little spot, but unfortunately this evening neither the service or the food was very good. The complimentary chips were stale (old oil) and when we asked for mild salsa it took three asks before it came. The actual meals were actually quite bland, the taco salad bowl again tasted funky, and the fried ice cream was not fresh

My chili rellenos, fish tacos and carnitas were amazing. We shared our plates and my family all agreed it was the best example of what Mexican food can be. The service was great as were the happy hour prices. We are going to try the Salvadoran pompusas the next time we come. I give this restaurant my highest recommendation.

Bad attention. The morra. And the morro that they serve... when you enter, they talk to their acquaintances and serve when the pinch hits them. Like the clientele doesn't exist... I'm definitely going back to pure VR

This place is a hidden gem. The food is excellent! This is a hole in the wall local foodie spot. I had the fried fish (Pescado Empanizado). It was perfectly breaded and it came with refried beans, rice, some greens and tortilla. It was delicious! I finished the whole plate. My mom had the braised meat (Birria). She was happy. I tried it and I loved it too. My dad was happy with the grilled fish (Pescado Adaso) and said it was very tasty. Basically, if you want good authentic Mexican food, with low key local joint ambiance, this is your place. Lastly, if you like heat, ask to have some of their hot sauce.
