Far from impressed. Ordered Philly cheesesteak combo, total $21 and change before tip. Cheesesteak sucked. Fries were ok. Place smelled awful and was dirty. For the same price I could have ate at a decent restaurant but this place was closer and online it said the cheesesteak combo was only $13. Oh well.

Diner-style food. We had fried chicken which came with soup or salad, and a side such as fries, onion rings, or fried zucchini. Food was average but they fried the chicken to order, so it was hot and fresh but the seasoning was a little bland. We were the only ones there at late afternoon, but they are probably busy at breakfast.

Typical diner but that was exactly what we were looking for. The patty melt was perfection. The pastrami was smokey and next time more mustard but so good. Onion rings were crispy and tender. The chili cheese fries were huge All at a cost that didn't break the bank. As far as the service. We went in and ordered. We were then told to find a seat. The view was amazing and our food was served to us, with free drink refills. This is what we looked so hard to find here in the valley. Can I give 6 stars?⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟

Showed up at 7:40 and they locked the door on me as I was walking up. My old man has been eating here for 30 years and he recently beat throat cancer and finally felt up to eating something instead of using the feeding tube and they lock up 15 minutes early right in my face. Guess which generation is the last one to eat here.

The food at John’s Palm Desert is just the best. If you’re looking for a home-cooked meal right in the heart of the Coachella Valley, John’s is where it’s at. My husband, my daughter, and I all got combos with perfectly cooked fries and even more mouthwatering burgers. The sourdough bacon burger combo was particularly my favorite. Add a fried egg and you’re good to go, and I can’t speak more highly of the customer service from the cooks behind the kitchen to the register to the staff out on the floor. Everyone had a smile on their face and was ready to give you the best customer service possible. Five stars, I 100% would come again, highly highly highly recommend!!!
