Let me preface this with good food.
Sometimes we need a bit more than good food.
I’ve eaten here numerous time in the past 2 years.
A couple of times on a day when there was a buffet, I do not eat at buffets for personal reasons.
The two occasions Monsoon stated I could order off the regular menu if I preferred. Today Sunday 3/16 my son and I entered the restaurant and the young man at the front welcomed us and said “we have buffet”. We both nodded as we knew. I said we don’t do buffets, and asked if we should just seat ourselves, he answered yes.
He took our drink orders & brought our soft drinks. He never came back and engaged in a conversation with the one other customer. We sat & sat & sat and finally I had to break in and ask if we could have the menus.
He looked at me & said we have a buffet, I told when you came in and you said yes. I tried to explain we have been in before and were allowed to order from menu instead. Instead of being respectful & professional he shut me down and argued with me. I’m sorry but obviously a misunderstanding but never the less, you don’t argue with a customer! Very unprofessional & disrespectful. I said we don’t eat at buffets, and before I could ask him if he could check with the kitchen, he kept the defensive behavior like I had attacked, so I picked up my handbag and we stood up to leave.
He followed me to the door and said you still have to pay for the drinks (a diet coke & blended mango drink) I told I him I took a sip of my coke & my son a couple sips. He told me how unfair I was and I still had to pay. I didn't drink it, not paying.
I will never return or refer my friends or customers to Monsoon again. This is my second interaction with this young man and he needs a lot of coaching and customer service awareness. We found another Indian restaurant in Cat City. Worth the drive, great food, good and friendly service.

We didn't like the food. Sorry about that .. it would be good to have menu items removed if you cannot make it. We ordered Biryani and it turned out to be something else, so we had to throw it away. Have to be careful with restaurants having Indian cuisine in the name or take a gamble by ordering regular curry.

Basic ambience. Not the best value for money. We had lunch buffet. Food was mediocre at best. They charged us $10 for getting 2 tandoor rotis instead of the naan that’s included with the buffet.
And there was no one else there on. Sunday afternoon even though the tennis tournament was going on in town with tons of tourists.
The person at the front was nice and did his job well.

We were visiting for Indian Wells and craving for Indian food. It was the nearest Indian restaurant from the Tennis Garden, we got a takeout of Chana Masala, Palak Paneer and some garlic naans.

Food was delicious and the server was super kind and gracious. She (I forgot to ask her name 😌) threw in salad, papad as complimentary.

There aren't a ton of options for the lunch buffet and it was $20. That's a bit much when there isn't a lot to write home about. The tandoori chicken was oddly dry. I appreciated the vegetarian options available. Unfortunately, it wasn't very spicy. There aren't a ton of options for Indian food in general around the desert in general, but I still won't be coming here again. Service and wait staff were very nice so at least that was good (+2). I did not get food poisoning (+1). Wouldn't recommend for lunch.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had and I’ve visited India many times! We have been here at least five times now and we’ve done both eat-in and takeout. Very casual atmosphere but truly incredible food. The tandoori chicken, garlic naan and the Chana masala are mind blowing.

During our visit to Monsoon Indian Cuisine in Palm Desert, we were warmly greeted by the team and our server, which made our experience all the more enjoyable. We enjoyed a spicy chicken tikka as well as a chicken korma, both tasty and perfectly prepared. The desserts are also not to be missed, notably gulab jamun, a real treat for the taste buds. We highly recommend this restaurant for an authentic Indian dining experience.

I came here recently for my first time trying this food. I was hesitant at first as it's new to me and I have no idea where to start. We were greeted very kindly by our waitress, Veronica, who I let know that it was my first time.
She was amazing! She made me feel very welcomed as she was attentive to what I described, she gave me recommendations and her favorites as well, so we ended up going with the butter chicken and garlic naan. She brought everything very promptly and consistently made sure we were taken care of. Always smiling too, which is refreshing to see nowadays! The food? The food was delicious! Definitely will be back to try more things, and hopefully get to see this wonderful lady again!

They do Buffett for lunch and the food quality is below average. We were disappointed as the other branch at Indio had much better quality food. The restaurant was empty on a Sunday lunch hour at noon, which was a flag — we gave it a try and do not recommend it.

The food was authentic and very good. The restaurant was extreamly busy but service was attentive and worked quickly to meet our needs. The atmosphere was pleasant but the space could probably have a little more personality

This review is about carry out. For the third time there have been issues. First, missing a mango lassi on an order. Second, I had to ask for the mango lassi to get it to happen and it wouldn’t have if I wasn’t there. Third, gave us samosas with no tamarind/mint chutney cups, which is what makes me love their samosas.
