We went to Schnitzelhaus twice during our 2 weeks in Palm Desert and had a great meal both times. Their pork and veal schnitzel are both excellent, pounded very thing, and tender. The atmosphere is fun and we will definitely go back.

It's amazing inside and authentic in a hard to find way. Food is spot on, bier is kalt. A great stop on the way to the beach. The freeway access is key as well- although I live in AZ, I make sure everyone stops in and brings a couple of pretzels on their way back!

We were probably some of the last to visit this great little resturant before being closed do to the COVID-19 Virus . The Owner is very Welcoming, The food is so authentic you would think you were in Germany! My Wife had the Roladin whiich She very much enjoyed . I had the Hunter Schnitzel which was excellent . I ordered 3 sides that are only $4.00 each when haveing the Main , and they were excellent ,small house salad, Red cabbage, Dill cucumber salad very good. This is not a place for watching your waist line but it is an excellent treat . I do hope they are able to maintain the Resturant during these tough times .

Five of us were here on a recent Sunday evening. We started with some bratwurst, onion rings, and pretzels to share. For my entree I ordered my favorite, Currywurst. Loved it. The others enjoyed their selections, which included Madagascar Schnitzel with extra pepper sauce. Our service was very good as well.

What's good here? We have not tasted everything, but everythig we've tasted has been great. Very authentic Bavarian fare - just like they advertize. For me, they have the best goulash I have had in decades. My wife had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce, which she liked a lot. Their spaetzle is awesome. Make sure it is a side on your plate. Beyond the food, I like going there just for the unique selection of German beers on tap. The prices are not inexpensive, but the portions are substantial. And the ambience...it's OK, but don't expect this to be a "fine dining" experience. That's not a slur, just an observation. It is rather small, so make a reservation in advance.

6 of us had dinner at this wonderful restaurant last Tuesday and as usual we loved everything about it. This is the most authentic looking place and they have the most authentic German food I have had since returning from Germany some years ago now. The owner is from northern Germany and clearly knows how to satisfy those looking for great German food! I love going there and you will too! Suggest getting a reservation. Even on a weeknight the place was full all evening. That alone tells you how good the food is!!

Dinner at the Schnitzelhaus is always excellent. The owners are German and know how to prepare it. The decor is very Bavarian with Bavarian holiday clothes (Lederhosen and embroidered shirts and blouses), beer steins and signs. Tables are the heavy wood furnishings you might find in Munich or Fussen. The beers are mostly genuine German with many on tap. Wine list is a bit weak, but had good wines. Many menu items are really excellent, but I usually get one of the namesake Schnitzels. Pork is standard, but chicken and veal are available. I have not tried the veal, fearing that it is the flavorless and cruely raised American meat and not the proper European veal. The red cabbage is excellent as are the Spetzle and Bratkartoffeln. The place is small and reservations are strongly recommended.

When we visit Palm Desert the Scnitzelhaus is a place we like to return to.The restaurant lives up to its advertised aim of serving authentic German food in a cosy Bavarian atmosphere. They serve a wide range of schnitzel dishes as well as many other specialities, for example Bavarian Schweinbraten. The restaurant is licenced and there is an outdoor dining patio.I would recommend making a reservation as the restaurant is popular. You don't have to wait too long for your meal as the service is excellent. We enjoyed our recent "tasty night out" and I recommend this restaurant.

The Schnitzelhaus lives up to its claim to provide great German food in a cozy Bavarian themed atmosphere. We enjoyed one of the delicious sounding array of schnitzel dishes. The menu has a host of German specialties which are sure to please as well as a good selection of German beers. There is an outdoor dining patio as well. The service is great and prices are reasonable. Recommended.
