Waldo's Ristorante

This is a delightful restaurant with great service and fabulous food. There were 4 of us and it was very crowded. The hostess was top of the game and seated us at our reservation time with no problem. In my exoperience if a host/hostess does their job well, it will be a terrific dining experience. That was the case tonight. Waldo's is our go-to restaurant in Coachella valley.

Waldo’s was nice. My wife got the chicken fettuccini Alfredo. I had the beef and risotto. My dish was pretty good. My biggest complaint was my risotto was very creamy. Ultimately, it was too heavy to finish but tasty. Also staffing seemed a bit overwhelmed for dinner on a weekday, but nice otherwise. Also the calamari wasn’t my favorite cut and lacked seasoning. The wine selection was also pretty good.

Food was disappointing. Tomatoes in the caprese had no flavor. The whitefish was way overcooked and the potatoes were gummy. My husband had penne pesto and the pesto was boring. No flavor at all. Service was inconsistent. We specifically asked to order a glass of wine with the entrees but the wait person never came back before the entrees arrived. Could be because the place was slammed but we aren't going back.

We had a lovely evening celebrating a friend’s wedding anniversary. Beautiful evening to eat outside. Great food and outstanding service.

Party of 5. I never got my food. What everyone else got was very good. Server was poor. Do they have a manager. Never saw him. He should have been made aware of the problem and taken care of it. They did nothing!

We went to Waldo’s with a group of 12 people on Feb 4, 2025 after a game of golf at the Lakes. Although the restaurant came recommended by our friends as it was close to the course, the food was well below par. My wife is celiac and highly allergic to gluten and was assured her meal of shrimp scampi was gluten free if the chef sub in gluten free pasta.

When the meal came it had normal gluten pasta and when the waitress noticed this she took it away. When the meal came back it had gluten free pasta on top but also remnants of the angel hair pasta beneath and obviously the sauce was also tainted. About 45 minutes after eating, my wife suffered severe pain for the next 24 hrs until it was completely out of her system.

Also, my son said his chicken parmigiana was very dry.

The bad part of this is that I was sitting at the other end of the table and not made aware of this as we spent a lot of money in there as 6 of the 12 were my family. I dont like paying for poor food or performance, but neither my wife or son wanted to say anything as we were out with my old school mates and did not want to make a scene.

I had the rack of lamb which was great, but overall give this restaurant a failing grade for substandard food and wish my family said something to me at the time, as we deserved better performance from the kitchen.

Dietary restrictions: They sucked on this point. Would not eat there again.

Party of 4 went to this restaurant on New Years eve. They had both their regular menu and a special menu for New Years. We all had different appetizers and entrees and desert. The whole meal was a great experience, the service was good, the food had great flavour was well prepared and portions were adequate. Definitely recommend this restaurant for a great eating experience.
