Dined at Amala's last friday night, they're doing a soft opening while they get everything in place and it's outstanding. The setting is so cool at the water park. The decor is amazing, the chef is a pro and everything is fresh and interesting with a ton of flavor. This is going to be the place to go in Palm Springs.

Just wanted to give a shout out to Anthony and the staff for going above and beyond for us today. The food was amazing… honestly the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. We truly enjoyed our stay and I can’t thank you enough. Such a unique experience that we’ll remember forever. Cant wait to come back.

Be Careful. We looked at the menu online and decided what we were going to order and how much it would cost. When we arrived we found that many of the items on the online menu were not on the inhouse menu and most of the prices on the inhouse menu were quite a bit higher than on the online menu. I asked the waiter, who gave us real good service otherwise, and he just kind of shrugged it off. I wrote the owner an email pointing out the discrepancy and I have not received a reply.

(Attended the restaurant during an Adult Night Swim event.) As a desert local, I’m so stoked that Amala exists as it gives me the feeling of getting out of town for the night. I felt like I was having a really delicious dinner overlooking an epic Mountain View, with a DJ and 200 young people in the pool having a good time. We both really liked our meal (burger and steak tacos) but what sealed the deal for us to be return customers was our server Nate. Such a good vibe and has a vast culinary background so I trusted his judgement. Nailed ittt. Thanks Nate!

What a fun and exciting experience. The Amala located at the Palm Springs Surf Club is the perfect happy hour spot. The atmosphere was bright, welcoming and upbeat. The food and cocktails were tasty, delicious, and generously portioned. Nate, our server, was spectacular. Smiling, outgoing, and attentive. Our group looks forward to returning!!! Well done Amala!!!!

I cannot make this up… First experience: a friend ordered the avocado toast and it arrived WITHOUT TOAST. Just avocado and toppings on a plate. They didn’t offer to remake it, they just brought out toast on the side. Still had to pay for it. Second experience: I ordered lunch and waited almost 2 hours before asking where it was. Server said their register broke and they’re 150 orders backed-up. So essentially I would not receive my lunch at all. Still had to pay for it. Third experience: I ordered watermelon salad, it arrived missing HALF of the ingredients. Instead of remaking it, the server brought out little bowls of the missing ingredients so I had to basically remake the salad myself. Didn’t receive an “I’m sorry,” only excuses. Still had to pay full price. This place has the potential to be so cool, but it’s so incredibly disorganized and lacking in the service department, I don’t know how they’ll stay in business.

I thought with the restaurant being open now for a bit that the kinks would have been worked out but still has a lot of progress to be made. The menu on the website does not match what is provided. The menu online had a lot more options. Some items online as lunch items were actually appetizers on the physical menu. Prices were high with small portions for what we ordered. Drinks were a bit weak for the price. The ambiance is nice. However, our server was rather cold and seemed disinterested.

Amala is a restaurant inside the resort, right outside of the main pool and lazy river area. You need to make reservations so you can get inside their compound, so make sure to do that ahead of time. They have a lot of parking spots since it's also the water park. Inside, they have a lot of tables plus a bar area on top of a bunch of tables outside as well. They have a lot of staff running around all the time, but it's a bit chaotic. Our server came by a few times, but never refilled waters, didn't check on us when we got our food, and took over 30 minutes after we were all finished to even come by to ask if we wanted more. Their menu is kind of small for the size of the place, but portion sizes are big here so it's worth the price. Flavors are there for some dishes, like the bao buns and carne asada fries. Overall it was fun but if they tightened up the service piece, they'd get 5 stars.

A delicious meal in a fun setting! Four of us at dinner, and we all loved our food, nice variety and good flavors. Fish & chips especially good. And some great innovative cocktails to boot! We'll be back.
