We’re Dining with The Davids. When we go to a restaurant, we bring a group of friends known as our “Taste Buds.” We typically order a 12-course meal, which allows us to really get to know the menu. At the end of the evening, everyone votes for their favorite dishes, which we turn into video content for Instagram, TikTok, and beyond.
For this visit, we brought 7 of our Taste Buds to Carousel Bakery in Palm Springs—and every single person left impressed. This spot is a total hidden gem near the airport, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or grabbing something on your way in or out of town.
Owners Liz and Alberto clearly pour their heart into every homemade dish. We sampled a variety of items including the Cochinita Burrito, Huevos Rancheros, Ultimate Breakfast Croissant, Eggs Benedict, French Toast, Ciabatta Tri-Tip, and Focaccia Brisket. Not a single miss among them.
But the true star? The Pistachio Cheesecake—rich, creamy, and hands down the best pastry of the day.
They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, plus catering services for larger events. Whether you’re local or just visiting, Carousel Bakery is absolutely worth a stop.

Wanted items off the dessert menu. Asked the manager if they were fresh and was told yes. Got $50 worth of pastries home only to find out they were frozen and stale. The chocolate cake was so dry. Complaints from my guests when I served these.
Great table service, as well as home made pastries at the counter. Family owned.

Carousel Bakery has consistently delicious and fresh baked goods, always served with a smile and excellent food hygiene. We enjoy the honey raisin bran muffin and the cinnamon roll; finding Carousel's rendition of both, to be so pleasing!

Carousel Bakery and Cafe is a wonderful place for breakfast and lunch in Palm Springs. There is a great selection of sandwiches, breakfast items, fresh pastry and coffee. Friends recommended this place to us not long ago, and we have been back many times. Service is also attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!

This is more than a bakery! I met a friend there for lunch yesterday and I was genuinely impressed with the quality of food and service. Had a delicious and healthy meal cooked to perfection. I couldn’t walk away without a few baked goodies - they make them there. Had the Cheesecake and a Guava and Cheese empanada that was out of their oven … yummy! They have a liquor license and serve wine and other libations. Will be coming back for more!!!
Vegetarian options: Had the grilled veggies and eggs with potato salad and whole wheat toast. Delicious!
Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate your dietary restrictions.
Parking: The restaurant is next to the Spectrum store, on El Cielo Road.
Kid-friendliness: Families there with children for lunch
Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp outside for wheelchairs

Been in there 3 times now. They have some nice baked pastries, but don't bake bread. I was disappointed about that. I really enjoyed their bear claw, but not the jalapeño scone so much. I found that a little dry, but someone else in the restaurant at that time was really disappointed I ordered the last one, as it was their favorite(?)
The counter help are consistently not good at acknowledging you. You may have to wait because they are busy in some manner and wont be distracted. A smile and acknowledgment would go a long way... The restaurant is clean, fresh, appealing. I would definitely go back to try a meal and maybe up the score .

I’m really blown away how this place has such good reviews and it led me down. We came in for some desserts. The woman who helped us out was friendly. HOWEVER, the desserts were not great at all!! We ordered a cannoli & the carrot cheesecake. Everything was super hard and tasted old. $20 down the drain. I live in Riverside and we haven’t came out here in about 2 years. The desserts used to be good. Won’t be coming back, really disappointed.

This place was phenomenal! The food was absolutely amazing and authentic. We got a baguette, croissants, and another pastry with blueberries. Everything was fresh, and clearly made well with great ingredients!
The lady who helped us was very kind! She speaks French, and as someone who’s learning and wanted to practice she was kind to not only converse with me in French but also help me with my pronunciation while ordering. Truly above and beyond service.
On top of that it was cute inside, and clean!

We ordered a cake for a small wedding and were thrilled with the amazing cake we received!
Before ordering, we did a taste test with cakes from other bakeries. The Carousel cake won, hands down. The baker, Elizabeth, met with us and was very helpful and accommodating. The cake was exactly what we wanted, tasted wonderful, and was gorgeous!

I've been wanting to come since I've relocated, however I was completely disappointed. Chicken empanada was completely dry, although flavorful just didn't leave me satisfied.

I ordered a tiramisu cake for my husband’s birthday from this bakery based on reviews I read. It definitely was a winner, visually beautiful and tasty too! Both the birthday ‘boy’ and our guests raved about it, saying it’s the best cake they had! Thank you to Elisabeth for the order that came out perfect!

I feel like Carousel Bakery is often overlooked as a restaurant, and only thought of as a bakery.
Lovely little sit down restaurant serving some very good standard breakfast dishes and sandwiches. Today I had the french toast that was thick cut slices, with strawberries and syrup, eggs on the side. (sorry i forgot to get pics before consuming).
They've definitely got it goin on with the baked goods; large displays of all types desserts, muffins, croissants and pastries. Coffee bar and everything with it.
Nice covered patio with table service outside. Not overrun with tourists, which makes it a nice place for the locals to get away from the downtown parking game for brunch during high season.
