If you’re vegan, this is your spot! Seriously, you’ve gotta check this place out.
I'm not a fan of tempeh, but I decided to try the caprese burger. I was pleasantly surprised to find the texture and flavor was not what I was used to. I enjoyed the burger and really liked the Mac and cheese and potato salad. Dessert was a cherry tart which was sweet and flaky. The dining area is separate from the store and order section, which is nice. However, they are right under the flight path of the airport so it gets pretty loud with the jets flying overhead.

Chef Tanya’s is a Palm Springs classic. Always fresh, always delish. Try a salad, it’s a chef’s kiss.

Went here on 1/29. Hubs and I both had one of the tempeh burgers. He had the Guadalajara burger which he LOVED. I had the caprese which was fine but would not order again. I loved all the options they had in the cases including rebel cheese and vegan candies.
Unfortunately we went to grab a cupcake after our meal to split when we got home. Once we got home, I realized the sell by date on the cupcake was 1/4/2026. That’s an entire 25 days old!!!! I did email the establishment about it but have not gotten a response. I would check dates on anything from those refrigerator cases before buying!

Every dish here is crafted with care and perfection for optimal flavor. Even non-vegans would be impressed. It acts as a hub for all things vegan in the desert as well, with several vegan grocery options available for purchase. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-10
It was all fantastic! We got a Ruben and a Cuban sandwiches. The potato salad was a great complement. The take away desserts we saved for later. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-13
Chef Tanya’s Kitchen is my go-to comfort spot whenever I’m in the Palm Springs area. It’s a casual lunch counter and deli serving veganized classics—think nostalgic sandwiches, burgers, salads, soups, and desserts—but done with house-made tempeh and seitan that actually have flavor and texture dialed in. Most of the food is packaged and ready to grab for takeout, but there’s also a stand-up counter and a few communal tables if you want to hang out and eat there. I’ve been frequenting Chef Tanya's since she opened her Palm Springs location, and she’s consistently warm, friendly, and super accommodating. This isn’t “health food” vegan—it’s indulgent, satisfying, and absolutely hits when you’re craving a legit sandwich or dealing with hangover munchies. My personal favorites are the Chupacabra Chick’n, El Cubano, and Pastrami Mami. If you skip dessert, you’re doing it wrong: the Peanut Butter Cup Parfait is dangerously addictive. The Crack Cheese is also a must—grab some to go and thank yourself later. Not everything is a hit for me; I’m a huge potato salad fan, and that’s the one side I wouldn’t recommend—I make better vegan potato salad at home. It’s also on the pricey side, so it’s not an everyday stop, more of a “treat yourself” or “I’m really craving Chef Tanya’s” kind of place. The Palm Desert location and the Kreamery are lifesavers in the brutal summer—hands down the best vegan soft serve in the area!
It was my first time trying a Ruben sandwich. It did not disappoint.
Great food and great service. Delicious dishes for all tastes. The Wife had a shwarma wrap, and I had the awesome chik'n sandwich. The mac and cheese was astounding!

We are visiting Palm Springs for a week and we were happy to find this place. You order at the counter in one location. You can also purchase food packaged to go and lots of vegan goodies and gifts. Then the food is brought to you in a location not too far from the place you order. There are numerous tables to sit at. The food was delicious. Such a unique choice of food items. I had a house made tempeh burger that tastes so delicious compared to store bought tempeh. I had a delicious potato salad that reminded me of when I grew up. My husband had a delicious house made chiken Seiten sandwich and his go to mac and cheese. So creamy and delicious. We shared a crisp romaine salad with black beans, quinoa, avocado and pepitas. Our eyes were bigger than our stomach so we brought dessert back to our hotel room. Tomorrow we plan to try their 2nd location where they have vegan ice-cream. Cute little place with tasty vegan food. It's a little off the beaten path but would definitely go back!
If I had to choose one meal for the rest of my life, it would be from this place

This place lives up to the hype! It's great. I have allergies to nuts, wheat, and soy so I wasn't sure what to expect. But Summer gave me great help and showed me the options for desserts, salads and entrees. I ended up enjoying the Modern Hippie Vegetable sandwich WITHOUT the cashew cheese and bread. ( Sadly they don't have gluten-free vegan bread). Instead she (Summer )suggested making it a salad and brought me some mango based salad dressing. It was probably the best salad and dressing I have eaten vegan or otherwise. I would DEFINITELY purchase the dressing if they offered it for sale. My husband had the pastrami Mami sandwich ( he doesn't have allergies and can eat anything). He really liked it and I tasted the sauerkraut which was really fresh. For dessert I bought the gluten free organic apple cobbler. I really appreciated that it wasn't too sweet. But it was just right. I plan on returning to grab a couple more to take back home. We're visiting here. They have a nice little store for hard to find items. So our first experience was a winner, and we will be returning this visit. Also I can honestly recommend this place.
