Tastings: $20/person (waived with any 2 bottles purchased/person). Wines by the Glass $17 Return visit and had another fantastic time. They were tasting four of their latest releases, with a revisit of your favorite pour. We tried the '19 Grenache, '20 Syrah, '19 El Capitan red blend (47% Cab Sauv, 30% Mourvedre, & 23% Syrah), and '19 Petite Sirah. We also got a special pour of their '19 Cabernet Sauvignon, which we really enjoyed. Last time we visited, they offered us an advanced taste of their 50/50 Grenache/Roussanne which we really enjoyed. Unfortunately, they were already sold out and missed out on picking up bottles. They continue to age their wines for 2 years in neutral oak barrels, and I would say that their reds are medium bodied and quite smooth. In the end, we took home bottles of the El Capitan and Cab Sauv. I highly recommend that you stop and visit this cozy wine tasting room in the heart of La Plaza, in downtown Palm Springs. Mark & Ian (owners/winemakers) are fantastic hosts and darn good winemakers. Cheers!

My sister (the bachelorette) wanted to do a wine tasting as part of her bachelorette weekend. As we searched for a wine tasting bar that fit our schedule, we came across Jalama Wines, a boutique wine tasting shop, on Yelp. We starting planning a year ago. Ian and Mark Cargasacchi, the owners, were super responsive and accommodating to our needs. We were able to set up a private wine tasting with 5 tastings (4 wines and 1 revisit). It was about an hour to an hour 15 minutes.Their staff member onsite was so sweet and played Spice Girls for us while we had our tasting. Spice Girls was the theme for the weekend. The storefront was located in a strip outdoor mall. It looked like a mini winery inside. The bar wrapped around the left wall and there were stools around the perimeter. She walked us through each wine and we were provided a cheese platter. The wine is AMAZING! It was not too bitter, or too sweet. We actually felt the wine as the tasting went on. At the end, we had about 30 minutes before our reservation so we bought a bottle to share.Ian and Mark, thank YOU so much for everything! I hope to swing by your wine shop again in the future :)

Great place to come in to beat the heat, relax, and enjoy some delicious wines. We are members of the wine club, but we still bought some wine to take home with us.

Had a great experience here one afternoon. The man explaining and pouring the wines was fantastic! He was well educated on them and super friendly. Even had unicorn cookies fresh out of the oven and crackers on the table. I ended up ordering two bottles to take home with me.

Jalama Wines is such a gem in the valley and the state. Mark and Ian are true hosts and make the wine tasting experience excellent. Not to mention the wines. The Santa Barbara varietals are amazing and amongst the best I have ever had. Do not sleep on this tasting room or winery. One of the finest in the state!

Wine was decent, nothing incredibly amazing. Ambiance was very average. Service wasn't great, our server (the owner?), an older gentlemen, had the audacity to pour our 4th round of wine tasting into our glasses before we had even finished the 3rd round.

Our friend John recommended this place for wine tasting at Palm Spring. We enjoyed it and Mark was great explaining about the wine we tasted. We definitely recommend this place.

Not bad wine, not great wine. Owners are very nice. Fits into the niche Palm Springs tourist attraction.

Been wanting to come here since discovering it on while walking around in Palm Springs. Came here on a Friday and the tasting room had plenty of seating but was nearly full on the bar top. The two gentleman which I believe were the owners were super friendly and welcoming. The ambiance in this place was perfect for a palm springs tasting room. The wine was very good. The El Capitan and the Petite Syrah were our favorites. All tastings were solid. Walked out with an El Capitan. I definitely recommend checking this place out. We will go back.

Visiting the area and so glad we found this place. 5 wines and all very good. Purchased 2 bottles each of the Shiraz and Petite Shiraz. Highly recommend stopping in and trying. Salesmen were very informative not only of their wines but the wines of the region.

Laid back wine tasting experience. Great range in red wines from California. They also ship wines for you, making taking a few home really easy.

We had a really wonderful wine-tasting experience here. So fortunate to meet both the winemakers/owners - Mark and Ian. We had a really nice time talking to them and the other patrons, some locals and some visitors, but all really friendly. They have farms and vineyards in the Solvang area, but they also source grapes from Los Olivos, which we love. Wine-tasting is $20/person, but free if you purchase 2 bottles, and high-quality wines. We really liked their Refugio GSM (Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre) and their Merlot, and got a bottle of each. They had some palate cleansing tasty salty crackers, which were a treat, too. Also really liked their El Capitan (Cab Sauv, Mouvedre and Syrah) from Los Olivos. Had such a great time here, love supporting these winemakers and totally recommend!
