Kitchen closes an hour prior to their actual close time. Went out here for no reason.

Alex H. Made a perfect presentation at our table. The food was the best we had ever eaten. Great vibes, too.

This is modern Mexican at its finest. A great assorted of tastes were pretty in an attractive and comfortable setting. Our couch setting had us settling in for a great meal of small, shared plates. Dishes were innovative and thoughtfully prepared. Four of us shared four small plates to start, we had the chicken and red snapper to share as the larger plates and oh, so delicious crispy churros for dessert. These were served with a dulce de leche, hot chocolate and cinnamon ice cream. We were so full and happy! Our waiter was knowledgeable and food paced well. Drinks were also innovative--nice by the glass wine menu, too. We had an orange wine to complement the meal and it was superb.

When we visited Maleza for lunch, they were new and it felt like they were still getting their legs under them. There’s no maitre d, so we approached the bartender who said they were overwhelmed and service would be a while. We weren’t in a rush, so we settled in.The waiter was delightful, and the cocktail was top-notch. The food was fairly good, and despite the warning, didn’t take too long. Our only complaint was the price was somewhat high. It’s was $80ish for lunch with one cocktail.

Wanted to love this place. Beautiful indoor outdoor space with a super comfy feel and fantastic singer albeit a bit loud for a dining experience with friends. I can't say enough for how professional and accommodating the staff were. Outstanding. Unfortunately, the food was a mixed bag. Perhaps trying a bit too hard to be different. The sweet potato dish was a poor blend of spices that fought each other. The steak was tough and salty. The drinks are outstanding with a huge variety of tequila. Will try it again sometime.

Food was interestingly seasoned; fun flavors. Small plates, decent wine. Somewhat like dining in a hotel lobby because we were not made aware of other available spaces. Far too noisy for pleasant, quiet conversation.

Locals here. Pricey for what you get including size of the portions. Some items better than others chicken was good but at $40 for a small half chicken not worth it. We are a party of three and one person entrée was completely forgotten which came well after we had finished eating the servers never noticed, and we had to say something, overall a disappointment would not go back.

I went specifically because I wanted to try the Mexican arroz, which was not in the menu I was given so I assume it may have been a dinner only item or removed, I'm not sure I didn't ask. Atmosphere was nice, open seating, opening dining area so there's a nice breeze that blows in so everything feels very fresh. Staff were also very nice and service was a comfortable pace. Food, unfortunately was not so great or at least to my taste. I got the Caesar salad, mushroom tacos, and the chicken tacos. The salad was incredibly salty, so so salty, I would say it was close to inedible for me and I couldn't finish it. It almost tasted as though the dressing was made with pickle juice brine, which I don't think would be bad, just so incredibly salty. I thought it was the cheese at first, but after a couple of bites I could tell it was the dressing as it had a sour characteristic and was the salty bit. I was also not entirely happy as the salad was described as being made with little gem, but this was definitely just romaine. I would not recommend this salad. The chicken tacos were also not to my taste. They were kind of dry and their taste was also ambiguously salty and burned. The mushroom tacos were good, but they had almost 0 flavor, but great texture. It's unfortunate, because the texture was so nice and there could be so much flavor added via salsa or something. It's unfortunate, because if you were to make a mushroom taco there's always huitlacoche which would be an excellent option and on theme. I think the biggest crime though were the prices, I do not feel the food represented what was charged. 18 dollars for 2 tacos? And they have nearly no flavor or very bad flavor. I think this bothers me so much because it's not like this place is an upscale restaurant. I was quick to notice that the tableware was placed just on the table and the table wasn't very clean. The cloth napkins were also covered in lint or white fuzz? And the restaurant could definitely be cleaned a bit more around some of the eating areas, I sat myself near a corner and the cushion seats next to me weren't super clean and neither was the floor, and I think I stained my bag by placing it on the seat next to me, there was something green on it that transferred onto my bag. And look, I didn't come here expecting the tasting menu experience at some super fancy restaurant, so normally these things don't bother me. But for 60 dollars for 4 tacos and a super salty salad that I couldn't eat is beyond me and I'm going to scrutinize things a bit more, if I pay more I expect more.

What a disappointment! We had been to Maleza previously when the menu was more Mediterranean and one could order a meal. We were unaware that they had changed to Mexican tapas. What a mistake. The plates are not large enough to share. The dishes we chose (scallops, Mexican rice, calamari, and some truly disgusting dumplings in a gummy white mole sauce, were extremely bland and overpriced. We took some friends who had never been there and they were so disappointed and then one ended up getting sick from the food. All in all, I will not return or recommend this place in any way. They need to go back to their original concept and menu.
