The host went out of his way to accommodate us and Orlando took great care of us. Many thanks to them both!
Im not sure what's happening but the service and experience has really gone down hill. The servers were not on top of the small details that make a fine dining experience and the bathroom smell was unbearable.
We had a lovely dinner. The fillet was perfectly cooked and Fabulous the truffle french fries were the bomb. Our service, Jose, was fantastic and all of the support staff anticipated all of your needs. Service was just fantastic. The cherries, jubilee, crème brûlée, and bananas Melvyn (foster) or all amazing . The evening was awesome, and never felt rushed. Everything was perfectly timed. We could even hear the live band in the lounge from the dinner table to our delight.
Such a cute place to take my mother in law! A very mature crowd I think me and my husband were the youngest ones in the joint. It definitely gave me movie vibes. Loved the place , would love to stay at the resort in the future!
What a great restaurant - visit Melvyn's each time in Palm Springs Valley. A bit hectic with the final night of the 50th anniversary but the staff's pace didn't act like it. Would have preferred to be seated inside and asked well in advance for it but the 50th got in the way. Thanks for how you remain at the top “of the food chain.”
We love Melvyn's .. Melvyn's Ambience is old school Palm Springs. Our server Shelly was excellent. She skillfully walked us through the art of flambéing Steak Diane and Banana Foster. Serving an amazing presentation of food choices which were delicious. What's interesting about Melvyn's is their servers longevity. One server has been there 49 years and still doing a fabulous job. What a fantastic experience.
Melvyn's exceeded my expectations. It's a bit pricey but everything was prepared to perfection. Service was just right, not too rushed. Our waiter Luis was attentive and very professional.
We returned to Melvyn's after not having been there in a few years for my husband's birthday. We were impressed from the first encounter with the host and throughout the meal by Orlando, our excellent server. To start the martini was sheer perfection - with their awesome blue cheese stuffed olives. Our starters were the escargot and the wedge salad - they were both wonderful and the escargot is as we remembered it - delicious. My husband had the filet for the entree prepared and butterflied to his request. I had the table side prepared Steak Diane - I would highly recommend it both for the artistic presentation and the sumptuous flavor. We were full however they brought my husband a fresh blueberry panna cotta with a candle. I also want to commend the host who checked in on us throughout the meal. Exceptional food and service - we highly recommend.
We went to have drinks and the evening evolved into a dinner; the staff was very accommodating considering we were a party of 9. The food and service are top tier. I will definitely be returning.

We were very excited to have dinner for our friends 40th birthday party at Melvins! We were even more excited to find out that they were celebrating 50 years in business and a different decade each year, which perfectly coincide with our friends 40th birthday and that they were celebrating 1985 to 1995. Highly recommend the loaded baked potato, steak and Mac & cheese. My mocktail was not what I expected.
Thank you, Orlando, for the excellent service!

This restaurant is a wanna-be high-end restaurant, but it leaves much to be desired. Although we made reservations in advance, there was no record of it, so we were given seats and ordered in the bar area. There was no complementary bread or anything offered. I ordered the Chicken Kiev which was way overpriced for what I got. After spending over $200 for our group of four, we ended up snacking when we got back to our hotel room because we were still hungry. The flavor of the food was just ok. The menu offered no explanation of each entree, and the waitress couldn't answer my questions about a dish in which I was interested. I was very much underwhelmed. I won't be going back.

We have lived in Palm Springs for over 20 years and have be to Melvyn's a number of time. We went on October 21st to celebrate my 93rd birthday and it was not a pleasant experience. First, we were seated at the worst table in the restaurant, next to the door where the food is brought in. Our waiter was under pressure and asked us to wait a few minutes. When he took our order my husband mentioned it was my birthday. He brought back ONE glass of champagne which we shared. The lobster bisque was excellent. The steak Dianne was not good at all, and the meat we get from Stater Brothers was better than that served. And, for this with a cocktail and a glass of wine each the bill came to just under $300. Melvyn's let us down big time and it was not a pleasant dinner. It may be a while before we return.

I grew up coming to Melvyn’s on annual family vacations in the 70s + 80s. Last night I decided it was time for a reunion and walk down memory lane.
You immediately feel old time Hollywood vibes as you turn onto the gravel road. Recognizing Mel’s signature M on the entrance followed by being seated in a cozy booth, my inner child was tempted to order a Shirley Temple with extra cherries.
Leading up to the 50th anniversary next month, this steakhouse offers different additions each week to reflect each of the past 5 decades.
The Chicken Pot menu staple is a delicious savory dish cooked to golden perfection with a generous portion. The 1985-95 throwback Chicken Kiev did not disappoint; flavorful crispy thin crust with moist chicken bursting with flavor in each bite. Cherries Jubilee was prepared tableside to perfection.
We received impeccable warm and friendly service by our server, Holly. Refreshing to be assigned a female server in a role typical of males for an old time steakhouse.
Thank you Melvyn’s for another great evening. Happy 50th!

10 star service, excellent food, and a nice dining room. Highly recommend. New management has done a great job of cleaning up and improving this old Palm Springs favorite restaurant.
