Overall pretty Underwhelming experience last night Food was good, but seemed as if the Host ans wait staff weren't interested in delivering a quality dining experience. Won't be coming back anytime soon that's for sure. We came to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday and Melvyn's was not interested in helping us celebrate her big day. Seemed as if we were an inconvenience to them.

We planned an amazing trip for our Mom's 60th birthday and knew we had to return to Melvyn's because of the stellar service and yummy cuisine. Pretty disappointed in the experience compared to the last time we dined here. Everyone seemed in a rush - to start we had a hard time getting our drinks and appetizers in. For a table of five that is having a large celebration, ordering the seafood tower, along with 5 pricey steaks and sides they made us feel like we were inconveniencing them simply by being there. At the end of the evening they made the wrong dessert to pass to my mother with a candle. It was just an off putting experience. We also asked multiple times when things died down if someone could take a photo of us at the table and they refused or ignored the request. Not sure if we would return based off of the customer service. Such a shame as the food is to die for.

I'll be honest - I screwed up and placed our res for 4 instead of 5, on Easter Sunday, and didn't recognize the mistake til the day of. I call as soon as they open - mind you, they're starting to get Easter brunch guests right at open - and I hope for the best. They reshuffled tables to accommodate. We ate and drank so well that night...the beef wellington, the chicken pot pie, the jabori chicken, shrimp cocktail, escargot, sooo many sides (mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese, carrots, mac n cheese), everything was amazing! Service was on point, and the ambiance was everything I'd hoped it would be. Definitely will be back!

Use to be one of my favorites. Have not been here in a couple years. Use to come all the time when Melvyn was alive. Bar tender said what would like and check? Not going to try dinner with that

An incredible experience from start to finish. From the Table-side Steak Diane was perfectly prepared and packed with flavor to the Table-side Bananas Foster served warm and delicious. The entire staff was welcoming, courteous and friendly. Thank you for an awesome experience!

Amazing staff at the bar and at the table. The food was great if you order the traditional dinners. Super place...Purple Room was disgusting...so happy we found Melvins.

We came here for our anniversary hoping for an extravagant experience but was left with a lack luster experience. The food was over salty and honestly did not taste good. We ordered the halibut fish of the day and this was a 1 out of 5. The veggies that came with it was a 0 out of 5. They just were not tasty and had an odd salty flavor. I ordered the European sea bass and it was a 3 out of 5. The sea bass was still to salty but not as bad as the halibut and veggies. I then ordered broccoli with cheese fondu to go with my sea bass but the broccoli was over cooked and soggy. The cheese seemed like some cheap velvetta cheese like if it was canned cheese. Overall for the nostalgia this place should carry for being around for so long it definitely has lost its essence. For the price and quality of food it was a big disappointment and our server was not that great. He seemed impatient and never came back to see how our food was. He came at the end to ask if we wanted dessert and never thinking to ask how our food was but at this time my wife just told him that her dish was over salty. That it wasn't very good. He just apologized and said he would let the chef know (yeaaaa right) but never considered discounting the dish or removing it. Mind you my wife ate like half of it because she couldn't bear it no more. We were not at the restaurant more than 30 minutes because we were ready to leave. Overall the experience and food was a 1 star. We will not be coming back. Our bill was $140 and we really didn't order much (thank God) and I had them remove the wellness surcharge they tried to add on my bill. It takes a lot for me to leave 1 star for reviews and due the cost of the food you would expect so much more so this review comes easy. You have been warned.

Melvyn's is an old school, high class, special occasion restaurant within the Ingleside Resort. Frank Sinatra had his own table (his painting sits behind it) and it's been a happening joint since the 1970's. We went with a party of four for my 60th birthday and it didn't disappoint. We started with steak tartare, oysters and warm bread. Husband had the New York steak ($78!) and I had the scallops ($30), with 3 large scallops (which I couldn't finish as they were rich with the buerre blanc sauce). My sister in law had the prime burger ($29) and loved it, and brother in law had steak frites ($55). We also had garlic mashed potatoes and cream spinach on the side, both very tasty. They presented me with a complimentary chocolate molten cake, but we decided on the bananas foster, flambé and all. We brought our own wine and corkage was $35, but it was just going to waste as we were visiting. Our waiter was delightful, he's probably worked there for 40 years. We ended by listening to a jazz pianist in the lounge over a glass of port. They have music most nights. The only drawback was they sat us in the back dining room (only other option was outside and it was a cold night) and we were seated next to a loud party of 10 guys, so hard to talk. I much prefer the front dining room. All in all, a fab night.

Classic old school supper club with a great bar & staff. Matradee was very kind & helpful with available table options and dinner specials.

Great experience overall. Service was excellent! After COVID, we have really struggled to find restaurants that offer great service—Melyns hit the mark. Our steaks (one ordered medium, one ordered medium rare) were switched but it all worked out. Martinis were delicious! Made my husband's birthday extra special.
