The Mushroom Masala is AMAZING! Been eating at Monsoon Indian Restaurant since 2014! Happy and Mom are great!

We went to this hotel yesterday for lunch, and the service was just terrible. The lady was incredibly rude, insisting we pay for our kids who are only 4 and 5 years old, even though we were told kids eat free according to the restaurant policy. She just changed her mind, making the whole experience unbearable. She kept asking which table we were seated at, counting us, questioning the kids' ages, and demanding half price for the kids. I've never had such a frustrating experience anywhere. Some of the buffet items were nearly empty, certain dishes weren't even replenished, and there was no chicken in the butter chicken. We didn’t get any water, and there were no cups or spoons available. It's infuriating how they treat Indian customers so badly, and it seems like they don’t care about losing Indian patrons. The buffet menu had very limited options. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place for families with kids; it’s better to choose any American or Mexican restaurant.

The customer service and buffet experience were unsatisfactory. On September 1, 2025, a group of ten members visited this restaurant after driving for an hour, expecting a pleasant meal. However, we encountered significant issues with the service. One staff member displayed a lack of professionalism and treated us poorly. Although there was a policy not to charge children under a certain age, it was inconsistently applied when the server decided to charge for our children, who were aged 3 and 4.

At the payment counter, the server created confusion by asking numerous questions about our table and the number of parties, complicating the process unnecessarily. The restaurant's ambience was lacking, and what was billed as a buffet had many empty dishes with no attempt to refill them. There were also no dessert bowls or spoons available. While the buffet cost for adults was $18, even the adults were unable to enjoy a full meal due to the lack of available food, yet the server insisted on charging for the young children.

Additionally, a staff member accidentally spilled water on a guest, and no attempts were made to rectify the situation. Overall, this was a disorganized dining experience. It may be advisable to consider other options if one wants a positive experience in LA.

The Monsoon is our family's favorite place to dine every year when visiting the Palm Springs area. The man Happy and his family are so friendly and quick with follow up on anything we need. The food speaks for itself: D-lish.

Possibly the worst indian food experience ever. Went in for the buffet today. Very limited items but the worst part was the taste or lack off. For the price they charge one would a expect better and a more authentic taste. Meatballs in indian curry?!! Really! Talk about fusion going horribly wrong.
Naan, tandoori chicken and rice pudding might have been the only ok items. Gulab jamuns were dense and on ice. As easy as Dal makhani is to make it was a horribly pasty overcooked tasteless mash. Tried every dish to find something to like and struck out everytime.
If you're in the area do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else. ANYWHERE ELSE.

Substandard food...overpriced. The buffet food tasted stale. Avoid at all costs!

I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH! I usually get delivery and I’ve been to the restaurant a few times! I enjoy the atmosphere and it reminds me of the old school Indian restaurants in NYC. The food is stunning and I have loved everything I’ve had here! The Paneer Makhani is out of this world and so if the chicken Tikka Masala, Korma and butter chicken were sooooooo tasty! And also that soup that I can never spell right… ALL DELICIOUS! The people that work there are very friendly! I ordered delivery just now and I’m about to eat it! WOOHOO! :)

I had Alooparatha and asked ketchup & pickle and they charge for that $5 extra and waiter lady said we charge for everything even for ketchup or pickle..The management needs to look into this…

Only ate here once, came for the lunch buffet while visiting.

Service was great and everything on the buffet was good. They had some good veggie options and some spicy stuff as well.

My only complaint about the buffet was the naan. It was more like pita bread, thick and doughy, which I didn’t care for. Most the regulars were having the buffet and ordering naan on the side, so maybe it’s better that that way, thinner and crisper when it’s made to order. I get it, it’s a buffet, you want to fill people up with cheap carbs.

If you go for the buffet, order a side of fresh garlic naan.

They had an old dusty bottle of some Indian beer I’d never heard of and it was delicious.

Service was quick and very friendly.

Five stars other than the buffet naan.
