I had Over the Rainbow Desserts make a cake for a small wedding back in March. The cake tasted as amazing as in looked and the staff were incredible with their service. Go here to make any event special!

I got the chocolate pie and was warned by the 2 staff how good it is. I am blown away! Will be back to Palm Springs just to get another of these!

I ordered a custom cake for my best friend’s birthday and it was simply STUNNING!! I’m accustomed to “pretty” cakes being dry and not that great tasting but this red velvet cake was so moist (sorry but it was lol) and fluffy that we were all eating it with spoons the next morning 😂 We shall all dream of the best cake we’ve ever had while on vacation in Palm Springs 🤌❤️ Thank you so much!!

Ordered a beautiful and delicious WBC cake for my husband’s birthday - the 6” cake easily provided 12 servings! Rave reviews by all! Also very kind customer service - highly recommend if visiting Palm Springs

We were visiting Palm Springs and stopped by to get a cupcake for my daughter. She loved her rainbow sprinkles cupcake.

As you can see: she’s STILL fighting instead of stepping back and realizing the curt tone was unnecessary.

Reviews are the customers reaction to your business. You do not get to decide whether a customer is happy or not, other than how you handle situations. It is blatantly obvious there is a gap in comprehension of negative experiences with your potential customers. Instead of fighting with them, think about what can be done in the future to mitigate these things from happening.

I highly recommend taking a more humble approach to your responses, learning about reputation management, and hearing what your audience is trying to tell you instead of fighting. I was extremely kind to you, whereas you were not kind on your response back.

As you know, there are many other bakeries… and the deal breaker for some customers might just be your tone. Please reflect on your intentions.

Update to response:
1. Difficult process to order custom cakes (has to look on website for availability, but must place via email and not through the phone - super ineffective workflow)
2. Owner took multiple days to respond to emails, I had to follow up for said quote.
3. Emailed at 1 am MT when they did respond,
4. Curt about me sharing an inspiration photo (not sure how else to communicate what we are looking for in a cake),
5. The response below shows the owner cannot see where the breakdown occurs.

I’m sure the cakes are magical and delicious - however we went in another direction due to price and customer service.

Typically I will fork over money for a quality product but because of the curt and low customer service I experienced, I felt my dollars could be spent with another bakery.

Arguing with customers because of their experience (see previous negative review responses from the owner) puts a negative taste in a potential customers mouth. Then to experience it was a bit shocking.

Hoping they truly thrive but for their customers sake, I hope the owner practices treating customers with honey rather than vinegar.

Amazing cake for my partner’s birthday! The flavor was so good and was elegantly decorated! So grateful I reached out to this place, as we were visiting from the NYC area and didn’t have any connections. They were so responsive and helpful, and they delivered it to Joshua Tree where we were staying! Would highly recommend this place!

Thank you to this amazing bakery and baker Melissa! I ordered a custom cake for my Sister's bday on short notice and the cake not only met but surpassed all expectations! It was not only gorgeous but also delicious! Highly recommend!!

We were in from out of town and ordered my 40th birthday cake about a month in advance. This custom cake cost ~$150 and was the worst cake I’ve ever put in my mouth. The cake was horribly dry and crumbly. The “peach raspberry cheesecake” flavor was nonexistent. The icing had no flavor beyond crunchy sugar crystals, which was unpleasant in texture and tasted like sand or cat litter had been mixed in. I took exactly one bite of this overpriced cake and threw it directly in the trash. I do not recommend this bakery for any occasion.

Inconsistent messaging. Go somewhere else. Here's the lovely response I received from Melissa after receiving a verbal confirmation regarding a cake l. If you can't do it, just say you can't, over the phone. The person I spoke to said it was fine. Talk to your staff. From Melissa at OTRD:Hello Gillian, if you had bothered to check our website it clearly states w require a minimum of 4+ weeks for weekend orders.Good luck trying to find gluten free in the desert at the last minute due to your lack of planning.Update, based on owners feedback:Hello, thank you for sending a response aligned with a kind of treatment I received from your business. To be clear, we knew we were calling last minute and were pleased when one of your staff said that they would be able to help us. I'm not a liar, and the tone of your email definitely proves my point.Cake stores are everywhere. Good luck to you.
