there's an old saying, don't over promise and under deliver. sadly, for me this applies to this good old restaurant. The matzoh ball in the chicken noodle soup was tasteless, the pickle had the toughest skin i've ever chewed on and the pastrami sandwich was full of pastrami but left no room for the sauerkraut. The coconut cream cake looks delicious but the whipped cream layer was more like a fondant than whipped cream. And $4.95 for a coke?? Really.
And the service - although not rude it definitely wasn't friendly.
I sent pictures of several menu items to a friend in Canada and he was salivating over the offerings. That was before I got my food.
That is the last time I'm going. Sorry Shermans , well not sorry actually because I just paid for a pale experience.

If in Palm Springs, Sherman's Deli and Bakery is a must! We went during our vacation, and everything was AMAZING!!!

Sandwiches are massive and DELICIOUS — our Reuben and pastrami on rye were both piled high! The homemade fries are out of this world! The portions are big enough that can share, but chances are, you'll want it all for yourself!

We also tried a slice of cheesecake, which was rich, creamy, and just sweet enough — a great way to cap off a meal. On top of the great food, the customer service was fantastic. The staff was friendly and attentive. The deli still has that old-fashioned, retro feel.

If you're in the mood for a real deli experience with high-quality offerings and generous portions, Sherman's won't disappoint.

Top 5 favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to. The Beef N Latkes and a slice of Pistachio cake will be served in heaven.

If you walk out of there not full. It’s your own fault. They serve you delicious food! But eat only half of your meal so you can save room for dessert.

Very delicious sandwich with juicy and tender brisket. We also got the chicken matzo ball soup. The soup was very salty but the ball needed more salt. Overall it was pretty good but there was a lot of people since it’s a popular diner. Parking was a little hard to find but I recommend parking in the back of the restaurant.

Classic Palm Springs Deli food. The standard all other decks will be judged by. Everything is good. The desserts are amazing, portions large. High quality fresh ingredients. Just go.

I have been searching for a place that sells Strawberry Shortcake for a colleague around the country for months and stumbled upon Sherman's when we were in town. She said the cake was amazing. I ordered a slice of cheesecake and an eclair. There was a piece of hair in the eclair and the cheesecake was okay but the stars are for the strawberry shortcake.
