We stayed at hotel zoso in a busy period for Palm Springs. The location is 10/10, right in the centre of downtown and valet parking made it so easy to come and go - although we walked to a lot of places too. The hotel itself is a bit tired and run down, the staff were nice but seemed the same! We stayed for 4 nights and our room wasn't cleaned once during that time - we had to ask reception for toilet paper any time we needed it. We got told the lack of cleaning / service was because of staff shortages but the price did not reflect this - gives very strong "no one wants to work anymore" vibes. Perhaps pay staff a living wage and you might attract good people? Apart from not being cleaned, our room was fine. Had a nice view of the mountains from the balcony. The pool area was also nice. We had breakfast in the restaurant and it was mediocre and over priced - that was definitely a mistake - I do not recommend eating there. Overall, what we got for the price did not represent good value for money - even taking into account how expensive hotels in Palm Springs generally are. There are better places to stay.

Pros: -Location - honestly this is the best part. You can get to Palm Canyon drive in a < 5 minute walk. You are really close to tons of shops and restaurants. -Valet system worked great but it was off-season -- valet is part of the 'resort' fee. I personally think they are very transparent about the resort fee now. -Check in was really easy, and because our room was available they let me in early, it was really nice! -We got a premium room-- it was updated with very cozy bed, nice tv, nice balcony (looking onto parking lot but I didn't pay to look over the pool) -Our room (in the mid-220 room numbers), was very quiet at night and far away from the nightclub on site -There is a nice pool with plenty of seating in mid-march, and a hot tub. Both seemed clean. There was a bartender at the pool on Fri-Sun when we were there, not sure about other days. -There is a small theater, so check if the show is something you'd like. -The shuttle from the airport works pretty well, you just call the number on the website for the front desk and they send them out to you at the flag pole across from baggage claim. Cons: -Biggest con is the sewage smell most of the day in the lobbing Fri night-Sun. It was not there Thursday, so it makes sense that some of the business travelers in other reviews did not mention it, but the weekenders did. It's sad that this has been going on for at least 6 months based on online reviews and nothing has been done about it. It smells like sewage is coming up through the pipes somewhere in the lobby (but not in the lobby bathrooms which is interesting). It permeates the open-concept bar/lounge area so it's really unpleasant to have a drink there. It did not smell in our room which was far from the lobby. -Pool party was a little strange-- could just be it's not high season yet. We paid for tickets but never had to show them. There were lots of kids in the pool which seemed weird too. The main activity is that there is a DJ and a server going around to the chairs. I think they may charge for the cabanas and have you sign up for them during high season. -The faucet handle kept falling off of our shower-- it worked still but it was a little annoying. This was probably just an issue in our room but it seems like housekeeping would catch it. -The soap they give you is a wafer -- don't be afraid to ask for more soap or TP though. -They have a policy that they don't clean the rooms unless you ask and also stay a minimum number of nights -- doesn't bother me but for $500/night some might not like that.

Excellent location to walk anywhere you want in Downtown Palm Springs. We felt incredibly safe walking and it was easy to get an Uber if needed. The hotel bar and lobby was lovely. Perfect place for fun or business! And only 10 minutes at most from the airport!

This is my worst hotel experience ever. DO NOT STAY here! We paid $600 a night for a crappy tepid shower where I was freezing and had to crank up the heater to stay warm. Gardner with a super loud leaf blower came at 7:30 in the morning on weekend and holiday. We called and asked nicely about these issues they told us that’s just how it is. They don’t care because they will just get money from travelers who will continue to book online. I’ve never in my life been motivated to write a negative review, this is my first negative review ever. I usually believe in only writing positive reviews, my experience here was that disappointing. You may be thinking that I’m just picky it can’t be that bad- I feel the need to tell you I am an anthropologist I have lived in the jungle for months in India with no running water, I’ve traveled across oceans on a very very small sailboat with no hot water and no showers for weeks, I’ve hiked the Himalayas without showering sleeping on straw beds. I could go on. I’ve stayed in more accommodating places for $25 with a bucket to wash myself in. DO NOT STAY HERE!

To be honest, I was terrified after reading most of the other reviews here. Staying somewhere else than the group I was with wouldn't have come off so nice, so I just decided to jump in head first. Long story short, it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. For me, the staff were friendly, helpful and in one instance, proactive. I didn't notice any weird or off-putting smells anywhere. The rooms and the bathrooms are large and quite wide. The location is ideal, close to the heart of downtown, shopping, restaurants, LGBTQ nightlife and late night eats. I didn't find anything unclean, gross or overly rundown. The beds are comfortable. A few of us has minor maintenance issues in our rooms. I answered their text message about having any special requests with "I would not like a ground floor room." I got a ground floor room. (I know requests aren't guaranteed, but everyone else was on a higher floor. I didn't bother to fight it; it was fine though). My room didn't have carpet, which was a bit surprising after perusing the website, so not sure if that's a ground floor thing only as the other rooms on higher floors I saw did have carpet. I imagine some would prefer the no carpet option. You aren't able to charge drinks at the lobby bar to your room. Not a big deal, but odd in today's advanced world. I can't speak to the restaurant or the pool area. I'm not sure if the restaurant was even operating, unless it was just a really, really slow weekend. The decor and overall feel/vibe of the hotel is kind of hodgepodge, maybe like it has an identity crisis, not sure what it exactly wants to be. The hotel has an old shell, with some effort made to make the inside of the shell a bit more shiny. But overall, it was better than I expected after reading all the reviews here. Was it worth the higher price??? (About $660 total for two nights in mid-December?) Ehhhh well, the location might save you from Uber fares if you plan to be downtown a great deal. For the purposes of our group for a quick weekend, it was super convenient. Would I stay here again? Maybe, if the price was right or not any higher than what I just paid, I'd consider it.

First - beware the hidden resort fee - it's another $40 on whatever you pay for the room. The whole place has seen better days. Or maybe not, maybe there were never good days. It's grim and dirty, the staff are rude, the hot tub is a petri dish. Great location though!

This is by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in for a long time and I travel widely for my job. The staff are unfriendly and borderline rude and hostile. I had a sinking feeling as soon as we walked in as the reception area was outdated, poorly decorated and there was bingo going on. We had booked a stay at a nearby hotel but our reservation had been cancelled in error so we were told the only option was to stay at this hotel as they were linked. They wanted to charge the full amount of the stay when we arrived but as we weren’t sure we would be staying we asked to pay for one night, however they still went ahead and charged for two nights anyway without my authorisation! The room itself was ok but still rather outdated. We decided to stay as we felt too exhausted to look for another hotel. We were informed that there was going to be a pool party that day from 2pm until 5pm. We didn’t feel able to stay and relax by the pool therefore and went out instead. When we returned the music was blasting around the hotel and it was very noisy in our room. There was no escaping it so we just had to wait for it to end. Also later that day we couldn’t get into our room because the key was blocked from working by the staff even though we had paid for two nights and they tried to argue we had only been charged for one night. It was awful dealing with them and having to constantly argue our case and once they realised it was their mistake they didn’t even apologise. Today we were told theatres room service closed at 2pm!, and the hotel restaurant and bar were closed too at 6pm so we couldn’t even get a hot drink let alone something to eat! We are thankfully leaving tomorrow and I can honestly say it has been a truly awful e experience and I would urge anyone considering staying here to avoid it at all costs.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. When you walk into the lobby you will first notice the sewage/mold smell that is so pungent. I think what keeps this hotel going is the great location that is walking distance to everything. The pool is small and dated. The room was nice and spacious, but it did smell like when you left your clothes is the washer for a day or two. Definitely needs a revamp with the AC system or ventilation. The staff were nice and professional. Would I stay again, probably not.

From the valet, to the front desk to the bar tender. The entire staff was awesome. So kind and considerate . The room was great and comfortable. The a/c was cold. I will definitely be back and I would highly recommend the Zoso! Thank you all for making my experience great. Cheers!

Excellent customer from all the staff, however the hotel smells horrible, in the lobby as well as the hallways and inside the rooms. I had to burn candles the whole time I was there, never will I go back. I was miserable the whole time I was there. I paid a resort fee and where was the resort a pool, no gym, the ice machine did not work on the 2nd floor where my room was at, so my daughter had to go to the 1st floor to get ice and where the ice maker is at it’s disgusting. Our bathe tub had a ring in it? and the wall in the shower was half cleaned??‍♀️ The worst birthday experience ever and that was my first time in Palm Springs, I won’t ever return??‍♀️

This would have been just an average stay in an average hotel with slightly tired but clean rooms but the employees made it a pleasant experience. Down to Maggie who worked the free valet/parking and some lovely people behind the desk sorry can’t remember their names. So nice to have pleasant people enjoying their jobs and being excellent at it! I would recommend a top floor. When ever the upstairs unit opened their deck it felt like an earthquake

The hotel was average. The music was nice. The thing that would bring me back would be the customer service. Wesley was not only friendly he was informative and inviting. He made our stay memorable by remembering our names and faces. Wes you are the sweetest and best. Thank you for making our stay memorable

We were there three nights for an event. The event ran from 5 to 8 on Friday and 10 to 6 on Saturday, later you will see why this is important. Our bill was $800.00 Pros The facility has been beautifully renovated, the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was unfailingly helpful and courteous. They went out of their way to be nice. Cons The beds are a mile high. There were no glasses, plastic or otherwise in the bathroom. The only coffee by the coffee maker was dark roast. The lounge had unspeakably loud music in the evening. There was no food available after 8 pm, not even room service or grab and go. This group would have been okay if the rooms were serviced every day, but they were not serviced at all while we were there, which I understand but...... There was one bar of soap and one set of toiletries There were only two bottles of water in the room There were two complete sets of towels, plus an extra bath towel There were only two paper cups by the coffee maker. A lot of potential here if they just work on it a little bit.

The location is good but book the Hilton across the road for a similar price. It is much nicer, they have plenty of sun beds, better pool area and servers bringing drinks to beds with an extensive menu. Hotel Zoso holds a open pool party every Saturday, we were unable to get a bed at the pool on the one day we wanted use of the pool. The sun beds are limited and dirty in need of a clean. The music is terribly loud in the lobby and pool area. Probably only good for groups as it was very clicky. There was only one person working the pool bar, when asked for a cocktail off the menu (one of only 3 drinks on there) we were told they were only served on Saturdays as if we were supposed to know. Seen a few reviews on here re valet parking. They tried to give us the wrong car, don’t know how they get this so wrong when they have one job. No key card is needed to obtain access to the rooms which is a security issue which should be looked at. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and no housekeeping visited during the whole stay. When returning to Palm Springs we will avoid and book the Hilton instead.
