The restaurant is closed. How can Open table give me a reservation for a restaurant that is not in business?! Super upsetting.

We had the worst experience of all. Open Table took our reservation for date night and we arrived at the restaurant on time and they were closed with no indication as to them being closed, other than a locked set of doors and no cars in the parking lot. Big fail.

The place is closed with doors locked! Take their site down if they aren't going to be open any longer. So visitors won't waste time.

Not sure who to blame here, but showed up for reservations made and confirmed the week before to find an empty restaurant with locked doors. Someone needs to get their act together.

This restaurant is closed so it's disappointing that open table is taking reservations for a closed restaurant. We got there, doors were locked and when we peeked through the windows everything was dark. No signs on the door indicating it was closed either. We called the phone number and the message didn't indicate that they were closed either. This was such an inconvenience because we had to them find another place to eat that could take us without reservations.

Was looking for a place to dine on my recent trip to Palm Springs Happy to find Wangs on Open Table Food was excellent and portions big enough to have a second meal from the leftovers Went with Mongolian Beef and Chicken Fried Rice Both were excellent choices Certainly worth a visit if you are in the area and looking for Chinese food

The decor is very a lovely Asian theme with a wonderful stream od water flowing through the center. Food is served hot and steaming. I had the Mushrooms Aspergus and Chicken. It was delicious! The Bloody Mary I had was just right for my taste! The waiter was attentive and very personable. His service was efficient warm and professional.

We stopped by Wang's for the third or fourth time. Last time we visited Palm Springs we had dinner there and it was spectacular and so we made it a point to come back and OMG what a mistake it was I'm sorry to say. I took my wife and mother in-law. We made a reservation for 8:30pm and got there at 8pm. To our surprise the place was completely empty. As soon as we walked in we smelled an extreme Pine Sol smell, I guess someone decided to clean 2 hours before closing. The smell was terrible and a huge turn off for us. We were greeted by a young man and he walked us to our table. We could smell the Pine Sol all the way over there. Our waiter was the same young man. He was super nice and we ordered drinks to start. My wife ordered cocktails and they were good. We also ordered the Korean spare ribs for appetizer. These were not good. The ribs tasted like old meat and the sauce was way too sweet. We also ordered the Walnut shrimp, black pepper chicken, Mongolian beef and a combination fried rice. OMG where do I start!!! ?
The mongolian beef was extremely salty, the black pepper chick is supposed to be spicy and it was not, it was actually sweet as well but the worse thing about it is that it tasted as old meat. I mean, this was chicken but it was really hard as if it had been cooked before and reheated. The combination fried rice had no flavor whatsoever and it only had two very small shrimps. The Walnut shrimp tasted good but they only served like 10 or 11 shrimps and charged over $25 for it. Our waiter asked if we wanted steamed rice and we said yes. The white rice helped with eating the overly sweet and salty food. We were shocked that the food was so terrible. I told my wife I was heart broken because our dinning experience there was completely different before. Our check was painfully expensive because of the terrible food they served us. We ended up paying $200 plus tip. Needless to say we WILL NOT be coming back to Wang's ever again.

I’ve been coming here since when I lived here in the early 2000s. Still just as great now as it was back then!

General Asian-inspired dishes? Yep.
Live DJ and dance floor? Yep.
Authentic Chinese food? Nope.

I laugh at myself for hoping there was good Chinese food in the desert. I also laugh at this place's attempt to make Chinese food. If I were born in China, I would be mad at their attempt to make Chinese food. It's pretty bad.

Service was good. People were nice. They brought out our to-go order very quickly. The food was so wrong though.

pad see ew - eatable
stir fried tofu - passable
combination appetizer - only the skewers were good
chow mein pan fried noodles - despicable
chilled peanut noodles - gross

Chow mein pan-fried noodles was not edible. The noodles (they used wrong noodles, btw) were rock hard, and the separately packed sauce was not enough get through all the noodles. The chilled peanut noodles had a sauce that was like eating coleslaw with raisins. It had no peanut flavor or even a hint of brown color. The only thing passable were the skewers, and even those were too sweet.

Beef was tough and very heavy handed on the the oil. In fact of the 4 dishes we had all of them had pools of oil once they started to cool down. I'm talking a 1/4 cup per dish.

Unfortunately our food was quite bland and came out all different times. Our server made it all worse never refilled our water, we had to ask for every item and when we complained about our order (the noodles were not cooked through they were inedible) she scolded us tons us we didn't order correctly. Came for a birthday dinner with out of town guests and it was an awful experience.

This was our first time dining at Wangs since it reopened a few months ago in 2024. We found the quality and taste of the food to be excellent as always, and we were told by our waiter that the chef is the same one from before the closure. The service time needs significant improvement. With only three tables in the entire house having guests, it still took well over twnety minutes, from the time of our order until the food was served. I hope they find a way to improve this soon. Also, want to give cudos to the bar tender. He prepared and served excellent cocktails at the bar whilew we waited for our reservation time. Overall, an enjoyable experience. We're glad that Wangs of the Desert is beack in Palm Springs.
