I was really looking forward to dining at Workshop and regret not doing more research before booking.
I started with the soup, which was described as 4 oz but arrived in what appeared to be a full-sized bowl. Unfortunately, that ended up being the most substantial portion of the evening.
My main course - the scallops - consisted of three very small scallops sitting in an extremely thin yellow liquid that could barely be classified as a sauce. The color and consistency resembled turmeric water mixed with milk - not in flavor, but purely in appearance. It had virtually no flavor and was so liquid that it couldn’t even properly coat the scallops. They were essentially floating in it and covered with a disproportionate amount of pea shoots, which overwhelmed the plate. The pea shoots were the largest quantity of anything on the plate and overwhelmed the dish visually and proportionally. Aside from that, there were about five tiny morsels - the size of my fingernail - of vegetables (maybe squash and a small turnip - I only ate two of the 5), one of which was so roasted it was difficult to eat.
It was also unusual that the server brought a steak knife for the scallops, which felt odd given both the size and expected tenderness of the dish. After one scallop, I couldn’t continue. To her credit, the server handled it professionally, removed the dish from the bill, and offered to bring something else.
My partner ordered the steak frites, which was simply an average cut of meat and not what we would consider a premium offering.
The space itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, which made the overall experience more disappointing. We left unsatisfied and still looking for somewhere else to eat.

Fantastic food and service. The steak and fries were great and the the black cod dish was also superb. Docked a star because the roasted carrots from the smalls menu were undercooked and hard.

Workshop Kitchen + Bar delivers a sleek, modern vibe that immediately draws you in. The minimalist aesthetic is striking without feeling cold, and the patio is hands-down one of my favorite dining spots in Palm Springs. This was our second time dining here, and it only reinforced why this place is so special.
From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcomed and pampered—they strike that perfect balance of warmth and attentiveness.
The menu is thoughtfully divided into small plates and larger entrées, making it ideal for sharing. We started with two small plates: broccolini and crispy oyster mushrooms. The broccolini was beautifully charred, sitting atop a deeply flavorful broccoli purée. But the real star of the small plates—no contest—was the crispy oyster mushrooms. If you’re a mushroom lover, this dish is an absolute must. The crispy exterior, smooth and umami-rich interior, paired with hot honey and seasoning, is nothing short of magical. I honestly can’t talk about it enough.
For our entrées, we ordered the Lamb Presse and the Black Cod, and wow—our taste buds were on a roller coaster. The lamb was incredibly tender and packed with flavor, while the Black Cod was a masterful blend of textures and tastes, complemented perfectly by lentils, pancetta, and thoughtful preparation.
And of course, we saved room for dessert. The pistachio tres leches was the perfect ending—soft, indulgent, and simply 😘😘
We loved every moment of our evening and will always make it a point to dine here whenever we visit Palm Springs. Workshop Kitchen + Bar is truly a masterpiece, and what Chef Beckman and Mourani have created here is something special.

Highly recommend. The food was excellent but above that the service was amazing. Dave and Sebastian were both beyond amazing and made us feel incredibly welcome.

Honestly this hurts - this used to be my favorite place whenever I was in town, but the newest iteration of the menu is not great... Like some items are just okay - and others were trying to hard to be edgy? Like they wanted to be creative but it came off more repulsive - flavors not really in harmony with each other. I usually recommend people to go here and I'm going to stop

Great atmosphere and service. An extremely experienced staff. Georgie made every dish sound delectable. Chicken fried mushrooms with hot honey is still on my mind. I will go back everytime I get to Palm Springs. 🌴

We walked in close to 11:00 PM hoping to catch a late reservation or see if the kitchen was still serving. The last server on the floor (a middle-aged white male assisting the final table) was extremely short and dismissive. He told us they were “shut down for the night,” and when we asked what would happen if someone had a reservation, he responded that there were no reservations—and that if we did have one, it would have been canceled because we were late.
The tone and delivery were unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming. For a restaurant associated with Michelin-level dining, the lack of basic hospitality was surprising and disappointing. Even when service has ended, there’s a professional way to communicate that—this was not it.
Great food reputation, but the front-of-house interaction left a very poor impression.

Every box we have when dining out was checked here. Fantastic experience start to finish. We’ll be returning again soon.

Excellent NYE dining experience. Despite the unexpected rain, we were glad to have reserved an indoor spot which offered great privacy within the restaurant’s striking brutalist-modern design. The $150 preset NYE menu included four courses; the only course without choices was the gnocchi, and everything was very well executed and delicious. The cocktails were great as well. The GM checked in on us multiple times, and we felt genuinely well taken care of with both food and drinks. Free street parking was relatively easy to find, and the entrance is pleasantly inconspicuous. Would definitely return.

Unfortunately had a really bad experience here. We had a booking for 8pm at the communal table and arrived at 750pm. We were sat at the bar while they cleared our table. We ordered two drinks at the bar and then by 830pm we wondered why we hadn’t been sat yet. We asked about it and the hostess apologised and said she thought we’d wanted to sit at the bar (yet no one had offered us any menu or food option). She apologised and said the drinks were on the house. We moved to the table and ordered our food (it was ok and the server was great). Then the cheque came and our drinks for the bar were still on there. I said they’d been waived. Then a manager came and stood over us and asked why we wanted the free drinks. I explained but he treated us like school children and scolded us in front of everyone at the table. Probably the most uncomfortable I’d ever felt at a restaurant. He eventually agreed to waive the drinks at the bar but only after treating me like an idiot. Strange behaviour and made us not feel welcome. God, that place sucks. Do not go here.
Incredible food, our waitress had lovely wine pairing recommendations & our group was unexpectedly blown away by the spinach that accompanied the steak.
Service was great, atmosphere was pretty good, food was mid, at best. I suggest you go somewhere else, this place isn’t anything to write home about.
