I was expecting to be underwhelmed by workshop kitchen given my last experience there and its reputation over the last 10 yrs of style over substance at high price points. But when in PS there aren’t a lot of options for fine dining so I gave it another try…and enjoyed the food. Workshop feels less glamorous and more “accessible” (baseball hats, kids, tank tops, etc) than in years past but we enjoyed our meal - the gnocchi and pork chop in particular. The service was friendly and bustling.

Delicious food outweighed by horrid service. I wish I could give this restaurant 5 stars based on the food but our experience was simply awful. Everyone in our party loved their meal. Two entrees cooked improperly were replaced. Dessert was ordered but never arrived. Wait staff was pleasant but inattentive.

This restaurant was beautiful and I enjoyed sitting on the patio. The bread service and appetizers of ricotta gnocchi and Brussels sprouts were good, but each person in my party was disappointed by their main. They flavor and finesse, which was very disappointing given the high prices. We all left food behind, which we hate to do.

This e-mail was sent to Workshop Kitchen PS on Monday, Mar 25 at 2pm and I have not had any response from them. I am going to the emergency room today as the sore spot on the back of my head is not getting better and is still very tender. I think you need to know about their customer service and how they care for their customers... Hello...last night I was at your restaurant for the first time. We were booked for the Communal Table down the middle of the restaurant. We had the last two seats closest to the bar. I have a bad back and asked if I could have a chair with a back instead of the stool. The hostess was coming to move the stool out and I took a step to the side to get out of her way and literally fell off the edge of the floor and down three steps and rammed my head into the chair at the single table in front of the bar. NO one pointed out the steps to us so we would know they were there. When I moved out of the way for the hostess to pull out the stool I was not looking in the direction of the steps (and I also did not see them). The first step (as you know) is literally at the edge of the end of the table. Several people came and helped me up and asked me if I was alright. They offered to bring me ice for my head. I was very shaken up and very sore all over. My head has a very tender spot where I hit it very hard and I have a very deep bruise on the side of my bottom and one of my knees and upper thigh. I opted for no ice because I already made such a spectacle and was very embarrassed. Not sure why I was because it was not something I did on my own. It was because of your steps which are a hazard being right on the edge of the table. NO one alerted me they were there and to be careful. Thankfully we were not charged for our dinner. I could not even eat all of mine or enjoy it because I was still shaking and my body hurt all over and the tender spot on my head hurt very bad. I am not sure who the manager was but I am assuming he was the guy in a suit. He came over once and asked me if I was okay. NO one apologized about the steps. If the guy was the manager, when we left he did not even acknowledge me as we walked by him and he did not ask me how I was doing or once again apologize. I am surprised no one asked me for my details so that you could follow up with me today. Those steps are beautiful but they are a HUGE hazard and you need to do something about it! You also need to train your people on how to handle this type of situation. I am going to leave a honest review on all the websites like Yelp, Trip Advisor, Resy, Open Table, etc. I really feel like I should hear from your owners on how you are going to handle these situations in the future and what you are going to do about those steps to make sure what happened to me does not happen to someone else.

We lived everything about this restaurant. It did not disappoint. Portions may be smaller, although ficus is on presentation, quality, and impressions. All staff are passionate about food. If I return to Palm Springs, we will certainly go back. We chose a booth. The terrace could use some work to improve the ambiance.

Deeply unfriendly staff, with zero sense of hospitality, all for at best mediocre food in a setting that may have been cool a long time ago but badly needs a refresh. There are plenty of better places in Palm Springs / the Valley. Skip this and go to one of them instead.

Workshop never disappoints - the service, the food and atmosphere make for a delightful dining experience. We usually sit in the courtyard but due to rain we opted for inside and despite all the hard surfaces, the noise level was always manageable. The interior is absolutely stunning and a feast for the eyes. Every dish we ordered from the Flannery burger to the duck to the delicious pizzas exceeded expectations. The cocktails were fresh and inventive. But the best part was the stellar service, our waiter was obviously someone who had been in the industry for many years and was so adept at anticipating our needs we wondered if he might be a bit psychic.

At first glance the restaurant is beautiful, we sat down anticipating a great meal as the interior and appearance was on point. We ordered the beets which were decent but plated so sloppily, so first plate not overly impressed. The duck we ordered which we were told is served medium rare, came out over cooked, dry and lacking flavour- very disappointing. The scallops were a treat, Cooked perfectly with some great flavours. We went with the special, napoleon style pizza- huge disappointment as it was a stretch from anything close to napoleon. We ordered the apple tart desert which was also disappointing, came out cold, dry with a scoop of ice cream that we didn't even finish. To top it off we were also handed our bill before we even started the desert, we wanted to order more cocktails but at that point we just cut our losses and left. Overall a disappointing experience , the M80 cocktail was delicious though but besides the decor - the highlights were few and far between.

This is the most beautiful restaurant that I have ever eaten in. Absolutely gorgeous. A group of us ordered several small plates, red lentil soup, shaved brussels sprouts, and lamb kefta. All of them were amazing. Really first rate, of the highest quality. For the main course we decided to splurge and ordered the dry-aged masami ranch ribeye. It was cooked perfectly, but we were disappointed that the veal reduction the ribeye was covered with was cold, not room temperature, cold. Service was a bit hit or miss. Never had our water glasses refilled, for instance

Very bad, careless customer service I've eve seen. There was half empty restaurant when we came and almost the same when we stepped out. Food was just ok. I recommend it to no one. There are so many places with better food and better stuff.

I was rather disappointed by Workshop's food quality, particularly for the high pricing that went with it. For example, when you're serving a $26 10" pizza and a $36 burger, they better be remarkable and memorable....and unfortunately they were neither. Most of the food, whether appetizers or entrees, were forgettable afterwards but not the enormous bill. In particular the burger was a let down, with an overly dry bun and greasy, grizzly meat...but the sautéed onions were a plus as were the French fries. The oyster mushrooms were interesting but had a heavy fried coating. The beets and citrus were forgettable as well with no particular flavors standing out. The ricotta gnocchi needs to be rethought with too heavy a plain tomato taste like it came from a mid-west diner. The grapefruit curd dessert had a fine flavor and was served au naturale and had a bit of bitterness to go against the somewhat sweet curd. The apple tart with ice cream was a sweet, heavy winner, tho. Service: Mostly fine, professional, and kindly attentive but the water service, which is handled separately, was AWOL far too often. Ambiance is very much outdoor / indoor at tables with heaters but not overly noisy, so that was good. Considering the $$$$ expense, I can't justify revisiting and no dish was really worth it.

Unless you have reservations don't go there. People are not friendly and snobby and not helpful at all.
