Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant

The family feast is such an amazing deal, we love the delicious meals, like the ravioli and the chicken luminescent, the portions are so generous, and the service is always great. The atypical interaction tonight was that hostess who sat us was not super welcoming, she didn't even say hello, when she saw us walk in she looked away and continued packing a bag, we usually are greeted pleasantly immediately, if busy they say they'll be with us in a moment, so that was odd...but whatever, she may have been new or having a bad day, we'll get over it. And it won't stop us from coming back. Overall we always love coming to Buca's, the food is always delicious, the portions are gigantic, the wait staff are attentive, and we just love the family friendly ambience.

Came for lunch to celebrate a birthday, but staff gave quite a poor treatment overall (and did not honor the birthday sundae voucher).

Avoid totally! Advertised a lunch special — with a big sign out front! — only to deny it when we arrived (saying it was not valid on weekends, though this was never noted)! Any business which lies and plays games should be avoided… period!

I recently had dinner at Bucca di Beppo in Palo Alto with a friend, and while the food was good (we ordered a sausage and mushroom pizza and fried calamari), we left feeling frustrated due to an unexpected charge on our bill. When we ordered, our server politely asked if we'd like garlic bread. Given our experience with Western restaurants, where bread is often complimentary, we agreed without being informed it would cost extra.

However, when the bill came, we were surprised to see a $16.99 charge for the garlic bread. This felt misleading since there was no mention that this would be a paid item, and it was offered in the same way water or complimentary bread often is.

We expected more transparency from a restaurant like this. If a charge is added for something that's typically on the house, customers should be informed up front. A simple mention from the server would have made all the difference.

Their Con Amore special, while the food is basic, is really great value if you just want a simple meal for the family. Yes, it falls down on the vegetables from a mom's perspective, but you can cheaply feed and have leftovers for your kids, plus the chicken Parm kind of surprised me! I was expecting it to be too dry or too salty and it was neither. Would definitely take advantage of this special again. Yes I know pasta is easy, but sometimes it's just nice to not have to make it myself!

What an amazing family dinner experience.
With so many food options to choose from, you and the family are guaranteed to have a great feast at Bucca's. Make sure to come with a good appetite because there are two sizes, large and family sized. The ambiance is quite remarkable. With pictures all over and creative artwork you feel like you stepped into little museum. Customer service is top notch. Our server Tanya was very polite and helpful in making delicious choices for the table, feel free to ask for recommendations. Overall great dining experience. Hope to be back soon. Thanks again ?
