Cafe Venetia Train Station is a unique cafe venue with highly above average fare. A hybrid public-private space with a relaxed extremely sunny ambiance. It provides a fair approximation of a European feel with unparalleled access to Caltrain, being essentially on the southbound platform. A reprieve from standard "chain" cafes.

Worst latte macchiato with almond milk I have ever had! Paid $5 for it - so NOT worth it...
Good scenery and smells really good. Quick service and really convenient for when your at the train station.
Recently returned from a magical trip to Venezia and desperate to relive the cafe experience back home. For a spot that charges fees for online reservations, I expected more. Suffice it to say the (espresso) macchiato and chocolate cappuccino cake hit the spot. It’s on the main drag, very accessible. Plenty street parking. On a sunny Saturday, wife and I had out coffee and desserts outside. I sure miss the local Venetian scene. This will have to do for now. Ciao.
The opera cake is a must have, I've never had anything quite like it. The salami pizzette was pretty good too, but didn't taste fresh. Service is fast. No charging sockets. Bathrooms present. Pretty empty in the morning. Located soon as you exit the Caltrain Palo Alto station, so pretty convenient for a hungry traveler.

Cafe Venetia is located on University Ave in downtown Palo Alto. We enjoyed the authentic Italian bakery and coffee..
Small cup of coffee at $3. Tasted old
Super rude and racist employee. The food is cold and bad.
Had a coffee meeting with a couple of business colleagues and really enjoyed the coffee and the great pastries. The surroundings were a bit spartan and functional, but we still ended up spending a long time there. The Cafe Venetia is on University Avenue in Palo Alto and thus a very convenient place for meeting people. It is of course one of many such, but it has a large selection of pastries and breads that make it unique - and they are really good. The coffee there is also very good. Service is mostly self-service but it works and is reasonably efficient. Would not hesitate to have coffee there again and would probably be very tempted to enjoy some pastries as well.
Glad to FINALLY find in Palo Alto someone who SMILES when they greet you! This new barista's name is CHIARA. And make sure to ask for a cappuccino!! She makes them with a designed heart made of milk and sincere friendliness.
