Very good soup dumplings, rice wine braised fish fillets, and stir fried celery and lotus root. The salt and pepper Calamari is actually Salt and Pepper Squid-despite the translation error, it is quite good.

Incredible food!! Loved everything we ordered. Will be back multiple times!!
One suggestion is to reduce sweetness on General Chicken sauce.

Dishonest business - charged a hidden 2% fee for a printed receipt. This is against the law (SB 478 effective 7/1/24). In terms of the food, the pan-fried buns were served less than 30 seconds after ordering. That means it was not freshly prepared. The smoked fish was served with all the bad pieces of the fish (mostly bones with little meat). The yellow croaker was excellent, and the mini wonton was pretty good. I don't trust this business and will not visit again.

a spot in the Bay Area that nails authentic Shanghainese cuisine! If you’ve been hunting for the real 'Benbang' flavor, this is it.
Start with the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). The skin is impressively thin yet durable, holding a spoonful of rich, savory broth that bursts with flavor. Even better were the Sheng Jian Bao (pan-fried buns)—they had that perfect golden crunch on the bottom while remaining fluffy and juicy on top.
For mains, the Hong Shao Rou (Red Braised Pork Belly) is non-negotiable. It’s braised to perfection with that signature glistening red sauce, striking the ideal balance of savory and sweet that defines Shanghai cooking. The meat simply melts in your mouth.
The service was efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere felt like a cozy family gathering. Whether you’re a dumpling connoisseur or just craving comfort food, this place is an absolute must-visit.

Super authentic Chinese (Shanghainese) restaurant. Time proven cuisine. And it’s Resy in-network, in case you care.

Chef Zhao is our family's go-to spot for group dinners. We've been almost every year and reserve their group dining room. It's hard to hear in the separate dining room; we can usually only hear the people next to us, not across the table.
We come in with anywhere from 10 to 15 people, so the menu is always comprehensive. We've ordered and enjoyed their XLB, fried dumplings, honey walnut prawns, thick stir fried noodles, sweet and sour pork, general tso's chicken, stir fried green beans, and crab with rice cakes. Everything is always really generous and flavorful.
The owner is so friendly and always greets us warmly. Staff are attentive, and we always feel welcome and familiar there.
The parking lot can get crowded, especially around dinner time. We typically come in on weeknights and find parking on the other side of the lot near the market. For dine-in for large group dinners ordering lots of food, and taking home leftovers, it's usually between 45-65$ per person.

We had a reservation for lunch yesterday, but there was no table reserved for us. A waiter put us in a 12 persons table, but the waitress was not happy with that and moved us to a smaller table a few minutes late after the small table was available. The waitress has no smile and literally ordered us to move. We ordered the special lunch plate. It seems the waitress was not happy with that and this showed in her face. The food was not good at all. It is too salty, oily and greasy. My wife has to wash the food with the tea before eating it. It was a terrible lunch. I would recommend to avoid this restaurant. I will never come back to this restaurant.

The stir fry vegetable is soaked in oil! Kids were trying to shoo the flies away the whole time and the servants didn’t care at all. The fact that the default tip value starting from 22% makes me decide to leave the review.

Got chicken fried rice, it was quite good. Nothing groundbreaking but good food. The space is pretty classic, also nothing particular. There was one very friendly shorter gentleman server, that was very welcoming. Other servers were okay. All around decent place.

Food is decent but reliable. You know what you are getting and it would not disappoint you. Shanghainese Chinese food is a great if you cannot handle spice.
The service is ok, it does get busy in there.

Do not order food from here. Super overpriced, and the portion is extremely small. $25+ pork dish has very little meat. Not worth it at all.

I really like every food ordered at this place! Authentic Shanghai style cuisine, not too oily, just the right flavor, large portions.
