I came in last weekend and there was an issue with the kiosk system. I was in a hurry but the girl who took my order was kind and apologetic and wrote down my order after paying. There were many customers in the store and my drink took a long time to get made because the girl had to keep running back and forth. She seemed like she was working alone, but I did see someone in the back of the store sitting down and laughing. Assuming that was her coworker, the person in the back should have helped out so I didn’t have to wait so long.

I'd say is a bit below average.

I came in last Friday (3/15) a little after 6:00 and there were three people working. One was sitting behind the register, one was on a call watching TV on her laptop, and another was in the back of the store. The girl taking my order at the register was very arrogant, and wasn’t very helpful when taking my order. I ordered a drink and a creme brulee mochi waffle. I got my drink pretty quickly, but the waffle took a while. While I was waiting for my waffle, the girl in the back of the store’s friend came in. The girl who took my order rudely and loudly yelled for the girl in the back to come talk to her friend, and she seemed a bit shaken by it. The girl who took my order was also the one who made my waffle, and after an almost 10 minute wait it was completely burnt and the presentation was horrible. The waffle itself was charred, and the creme brulee on top to cover the burnt waffle was messy and looked very unappetizing. The creme brulee was overly burnt as well. The taste was better than I expected but I did not finish it and it was not worth the long wait and poor customer service from that worker.

Trying the Taro milk tea and brown sugar cloud with boba. The taste was okay. Too much milk I guess and less boba.

The WORST gong cha I ever had in US. I ordered 25% ice but see how much ice I got. The lady gave way too much brown sugar, and too little bubble all sink at bottom mixed together which made the bubble super sweet and tasted awful. The store is messy and hot. Such a terrible

Visited just now, 11/9/23 at 7:45pm (they close at 8pm). Arriving to pick up our tea order, young man with a brown mustache and dark hair ignored us, closed the door and flipped the sign over 15mins before close. He said “oh my god, we’re closed” I stated you close at 8 and we have ordered ahead on Too Good To Go. He said “we only have tea” and started making the tea. His co-worker stood there watching us with a smile on her face. The gentleman was talking to her about us under his breath and was still showing attitude. This is the second time that we arrived before close and it was closed several minutes earlier than posted time. This gentleman needs to be reprimanded and taught how to behave towards customers in a customer service job. We got our order, thankfully, but after moments of standing in awkward silence and they turned off the lights , it was the worst experience at an establishment here in Palo Alto.

The worst milk tea I’ve ever had. The pearl milk tea tastes weird, like a soap. The other Gong Cha stores are much better. Dont know whats wrong with this place. Btw, the place is smelly too.

It was my first time in this store. I wish I had gotten the name of the lady who was closing the store last night. She was super sweet and thoughtful and I was very happy with my green tea order.

I walked in, spoke to the guy at the register and asked how is he and got no response. He stood up from his stool as if he was annoyed that I walked in and never lifted his head. Maybe I'll try another day but I didn't appreciate that.

Every time I order from this location employees are unprofessional. It's like they are usually in the back relaxing and don't even notice the presence of clients. The drinks are not worth the price or service. I ordered the creme Brûlée and they never torch the crème brûlée. I asked for light ice doesn't mean I want a Luke warm tea. This drink comes in a sipping style lid so you can enjoy the caramelized crème brûlée but as you can tell from the picture it's not what we got.

Very great Thai milk tea. Staff was super friendly too. I will visit again in the future.

I went into Gong Cha to celebrate some finished work. I walked in with my friend and was immediately overwhelmed by all the choices. We asked the gentlemen (Dre) at the front for help with his favorites. He personally recommended the London Fog, which is Earl Grey tea with Brown Sugar syrup. He added my favorite jellies and was so freaking fast. He was sweet, chill and uber friendly. I loved the tea but Dre is def the reason I would go back..it just goes to show you how much an employee can influence your experience. Thanks Dre! (Hope I spelled your name right) ?July 14 2023

I've gone to a couple Gong Cha locations and most of the time, the drinks are pretty consistent and you know what you're getting. This particular location is off of University Ave in Downtown Palo Alto and one of the more underwhelming branches. Inside were a couple tables and chairs with no music playing and not a lot of workers or patrons. They do advertise local community events, like a musical playing nearby, which I found nice.We weren't greeted upon entry and stood around awkwardly until the server appeared at the register to take our orders. I wanted something non-caffeinated so got the winter melon drink. It tasted a little off, but was otherwise unremarkable. I think in a busy area like this, you have lots of other boba choices available so this one might not top the list unless they improve a bit on atmosphere and quality of the drinks. Right now they don't seem worth the price.
