Honestly if you have a lot of money to throw away, you can go It’s a normal dine in restaurant extremely expensive for no reason. We were a party of 4 adults and 1 kid. They charged us $132 gratuity on a bill of $300. They charged $9 each bottle of water without mentioning it. And here I am talking about just normal water filled in a bottle. We felt like we just bought gold when we saw the bill. It’s not about the total amount, it was just beyond unjustified. Most food is either average and some were not at all good or rather tasteless . appetizers were good. There is nothing for which they are charging unreasonably high unnecessary. This needs to stop, It’s setting up wrong trends for Indian restaurants. We felt more than cheated. I have no idea who and why there are any good reviews. Still if you still visit this restaurant, I would suggest to write honest reviews to stop this trend of extremely unreasonable prices in such places. Also the quantity is just enough for a single person. We would never go here again .
I never write reviews. This is the worst restaurant I’ve been to in Palo Alto. Save your time and money

Ambiance of the place is very nice. Although we had a reservation the place was not very busy.
For starters we had Ancho Paneer Tikka. The dish lacked flavor and the paneer was not evenly marinated. We also ordered Chai which I felt was not warm enough.
For main course we ordered Tellicherry Pepper Chicken and Lalla Mussa Dal. Both dishes were pretty good. We got Garlic cheese Kulcha along with the large plates which was absolutely delicious.
The service was very good and the food came out pretty quickly. Overall its a good place but for the price the food was mediocre.

Very disappointed, from food to service just a mediocre place. Didn’t expect that from the great chef Sanjeev Kapoor. This place was opened less than 2 months but already lack of maintenance.

Mid food, service and ambience. You're better off ordering from one of the dozen places in

Excellent food- in both taste and quality. They're still new though, so have to see how they operate in the future. Much better than Ettan (which seems to be 8x hype and 2x quality) for now.

Restaurantji Recommends
Food was better than expected, with quite excellent curry. Thankfully I had naan and bread to avoid licking the plate ;)
We ordered the food spicy, it came what I'd call medium heat. My wife thought it was perfect heat.
"Malabari" Prawns in sourdough 5/5
When it first arrived it reminded my of a clam chowder bowl. But it's even better! Had a smoky coconut taste I couldn't get enough of.
Tellicherry Pepper chicken 5/5
First time having it. Good portion of chicken. Reminded me of butter chicken. Definitely recommend.
Basmati rice - enough portion for 2
Plain naan - was crispy
Service was great. They filled my wife's water like 5 times. It was never empty.
Ambiance is nice. Mellow music. Nice lighting. We sat right next to the window

Walked in on a Saturday night to a packed restaurant but we got seated with no wait! This was after Rooh told us we could only sit outside in freezing cold (I am pregnant) while they had plenty tables open inside.
I have never gotten this many water fills in a restaurant. Constant positive and pleasant service.
We basically licked the plates the food was delicious! I can’t wait to come back and try more items from their menu. Malabari Prawns (medium spicy) and Tellicherry Pepper Chicken (no spice but plenty flavor) with side of rice + naan is what we ordered and both were amazing.
Vegetarian options: Balanced veggie and protein options.

My second visit here. Had the golgappas which was presented nicely 6 in a row. The shells are a bit too big to fit in your mouth so they tend to break apart and become messy. But they taste good we shared the bargain Bharta, the vegetable and the fish fry with a stuffed cheese kulcha and some rice. The tastes seem to all blend into each other with not much to differentiate the dishes

My husband and I recently dined at a khazana and had a truly delightful experience. The Paneer Tikka was perfectly grilled, with a smoky, charred flavor that complemented the soft, marinated paneer. The Garlic Naan was warm, pillowy, with just the right amount of garlic, making it a perfect accompaniment to the rich sham savera kofta curry. The mango drink was really refreshing and veg biryani was good too.

Food was above average. The wait staff was nice and polite. However not a celebration friendly place because they charge $5 per person for letting you eat the birthday cake you bring over and there was zero acknowledgement of the fact that we were celebrating a birthday.
They never returned our voicemail requesting a reservation. We figured we are going early enough that it will not be a problem. When we arrived the place was completely empty. We were literally the only people in the whole restaurant and the guy at the entrance asked if we had reservations and then said "that's ok we will accommodate you". Overall not a hospitable vibe at all.
Unlikely, that I will go there again if they manage to stay in business.
