This was our first time visiting this restaurant. The food was very flavorful. We especially loved the dish called Tendhuk. It is a unique dish which was awesome. The dessert Lalmohan was super tasty. A must try. Portion sizes were good for appetizer and main course. Only dessert seemed a bit expensive for the portion size given. But overall a very good experience and I would reccommend this place to friends and also come again.
Our first visit to Rara for a small lunch celebration with colleagues and we were all blown away by the delicious meal. We tried so many unique dishes that were absolutely fantastic. Service was excellent. The Chicken 8848 was a highlight. We will definitely be back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Dining Experience at RARA – The Rice Special! I had a fantastic meal at RARA – The Rice Special! As an appetizer, the chicken momo was amazing — perfectly steamed, flavorful, and tender. The Chicken Nepali Jeera Pulao and rice were wonderfully aromatic and delicious. The sizzling plate with noodles was outstanding, full of rich flavors and great texture. The chicken curry was pure perfection — comforting, flavorful, and beautifully spiced. I finished with a soothing cup of chai tea and two delightful desserts: the warm, sweet Lalmohan and the creamy, traditional Juju Dhau. Every dish was crafted with care and full of authentic Nepali flavor. I can't wait to return!
I went to this restaurant for dinner with a friend. Food was tasty but service was subpar. It took quite a while before someone came to take our order. Navigating the confusing menu required many questions to our server. And even then one of the dishes we ordered, thinking it was a lentil curry, was actually a lentil soup. They did replace it with another dish at no extra charge. Overall, the main dish portions were small. Everything was tasty and well prepared but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon.
We had our favorite item, the momos, which were good. Then my husband and his friend had the sampler plate with chicken. I ordered the chili fish. It was so spicy that I could hardly eat it! Plus, the menu said that it came with fresh vegetables, which turned out to be onions and chili peppers. I wouldn't call that fresh vegetables. The service was lackadaisical. I had to flag down a waiter to take our order after we sat there for 10 or 15 minutes. Then they brought the momos and the other order for my husband and his friend. I wondered if they forgot my order, but it finally came. They could have suggested that I get rice to go with my dish, but I was afraid to order any because it took so long to get my order in the first place. Every time we wanted service, we had to flag someone down.
Ordered vegetarian Thali the selection were mediocre, Paneer Curry the Paneer were hard but taste was Ok, Chana Masala taste was just missing something. Not sure why Rara is rated so high when the food is just average!
Good food, extremely horrendous service. Food was absolutely nice, no doubt. Service was 0 stars. There were only 3 people who had to seat people, take orders, serve, and clean the tables. This is for 15-20 tables I had to wait 10 mins to get a spoon, 10 mins for someone to just give a machine to tap my card (did not even wait for me to finish), and no one even came back once to the table; Owner seems to be stingy to invest in staff
If you want diarrhea, it’s a 5/5!

The food was tasty but most of it did not arrive hot and was served in an order that made little sense so we were picking at sides before the mains arrived and then the apps arrived. Service was poor so doubtful we would return.
I recommend the lamb shank.

Very good Nepalese food. I think it's slightly better than my pervious favorite.
The appetizers were ok except the papery rice that went with them but the main dishes were average at best. There was not much flavor and the meats were overpowered by spices. We all asked food to be “spicy” which was not at all. Even the “hot sauce” we asked for was not hot and had no taste. Service was slow and we had to ask for place settings, water, etc. I’m not sure where the 4.8 rating came from, we were definitely not impressed with the food or service

Our dinner was amazing from start to finish! Came with friends and tried a few different dishes, including two different styles of momo (kothe and choila), akbare wings, cauli 8848, and chicken chow mein. The juju dhau was also a great way to end the night. Everything was so great! If you’re on the fence, don't hesitate! You have to go here :)
