We had the opportunity to stay during our son's surgery. The facility is clean and has great facilities. The staff, volunteers and other guests were very helpful. Thank you.
RMH is certainly a Godsend to patients and families of patients receiving care at Stanford. With that said, I have been really disappointed to see the lack of advocacy for their guests when it comes to the ongoing AC issue at RMH. The AC has been non-functional for two months. It is 90+ degrees in Palo Alto and many of the families staying at RMH have medically fragile children. The front desk staff have said “they are out here working on it every day” (not true) and “we don’t have AC in our offices either so we’re uncomfortable too.” I think these comments just show the lack of understanding that this issue is having on the guests. Working at a front desk is no comparison to trying to keep a newborn with congenital heart disease happy and healthy. If anyone was working on the AC at my home, every day, for two months and still hadn’t resolved the issue, I’d surely be making some calls on behalf of my family and I. Someone from RMH needs to take control of this issue for these patients. It’s unacceptable that they have to be so uncomfortable during an already trying and stressful time.
Racism & favoritism, all families do not get treated equally sadly… because Stanford LPCH is an absolute extraordinary hospital!

The Ronald McDonald House is a godsend they relocated me from Modesto to here before I had my baby so that way I could deliver here and my baby could be here to get to treat me he needed for his heart surgeries and to recoup after the surgeries this place is amazing they have wonderful resources they are a lot of help the staff here are amazing and they do a really lot for the families that are here and the support that they give the families is unreal I greatly appreciate them and thank you guys very much for everything you've done I'm still currently staying at the Ronald McDonald House and I've been here for about 2 months now and have a few more months ago and thank you guys so so very much I don't know what I would have done without this place cuz I couldn't afford to go back and forth for Modesto to Palo Alto twice three times a week so their life savers
We couldn't thank the Ronald McDonald house enough for housing my wife and I in 2020 when my daughter was born with a rare condition and had to be hospitalized long term. They have shuttles to the LPCH all day until a certain time ( I dont remember the times, this was in 2020) they also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Again thank you RMHC for housing us when we were in dire need of a play to stay.Rest In Peace Eve, We love and miss you ?
Ronald's house sheltered me and my daughter, we lived for more than a month, how grateful we are for this! Many thanks to the staff of the house, it was very warm, cozy, really like home!
We stayed here during our daughter’s surgery/recovery. We live in va, and a hotel would be extremely expensive. To have a place to stay while a child is going through a difficult time is a blessing. The kitchen always has food, The room was comfortable and clean. Kids activities and lots of places to sit and take quiet time if needed. Nice dinner served nightly. Not having to cook was nice- we were tired after spending days at the drs offices. Wash machines were mostly broken, so we had to go to a laundromat, but still less $$ than a hotel for sure. These places run on mostly donations and volunteers. Really very fortunate to be able to stay. They were running at full capacity, so we had to get a hotel and wait about a week to get a room
Loved it close to hospital able to walk

Lucille Packard Ronald House Stanford: Provided housing prior to giving birth to my twins, which was great! But after having them, my husband and one of our twins that was able to come home with us, while the other has to stay in the NICU for a very long time, we were kicked to the curb from the apartment with nowhere to go and was told by housing personnel that they did not have any room for us after being on the waiting list for nearly 8 weeks. Meaning we would have to pay out of pocket expenses for hotel room until they had space for us. Ultimately, decided to go home and start to raise one of our twins safely at home without having to share spaces like to store my breast milk, and the ability to eat and drink my room when I wanted. Glad we made the decision to just go home and drive 2 hours to visit our daughter! Do you research and ask all the questions prior! I also have an ESA, that I had to fight housing to allow. It’s was very stressful after living here for two months alone, and not one person being compassionate enough to help out once the twins were born. Our concerns were not taken seriously by any one person wishing the housing department.
This place is awesome! Especially considering the reason we are here! It would be a lot better if Covid didn’t have so many restrictions but it could always be worse. This place is a blessing!
My family and I are very greatful for this place that we pretty much called our second home for 3 months while our baby was at lpch. We would not have been able to be with him by his bedside everyday waiting for the day we would get to bring him home. Very accomodated for us cause I had my baby 2 months early so we did not have time to plan for our stay but this house found us a room in less than 2 days we were very lucky and they provided a range of helpful guides to help make arrangements or classes and even pump rentals thank you thank you so much.I dont know what my family would have done without this place.
The RMH at Stanford has always helped my family with our lodging when my son has to see his doctors. We live over 500 miles 1 way to the Bay Area so having a safe, clean and comfortable facility to stay at makes all the difference in the world.
It is a place where many people can help and it has very friendly couples and a large parking lot. Which is very close to many stores
