We were a party of 4 seated outside for lunch. The food was great, very nicely done - octopus, calamari, halloumi, moussaka, beet salad. However the service was spotty. Forgot our iced teas, then brought only one rather than two. Was almost the end of the meal when the second arrived. The server did check for gluten very well, and many dishes were GF or could be made so. The outside seating was noisier than expected as the enclosure is hard surfaces with nothing to dampen sound. We could hear voices from the furthest table loud and clear - not very pleasant. Music was loud but they did turn it down for us. There used to be nice plant decor but that is mostly gone. Ambience could definitely be better. The outside heaters do work well - it was a chilly day.
TAVERNA- wow, what a treat! We had the most beautiful meal, paired with the loveliest wine and champagne and the most incredible service! The caviar, tzatziki sauce, beet salad and king salmon were all excellent! The warm and cozy ambiance and amazing wait staff made for a very special evening! Thank you for a wonderful evening - we can't wait to return!
Second time at Taverna. Service was very uneven. We had to ask several times for my husband's martini, water, salt and pita. My husband's martini finally arrived at the same time as our appetizers. We had to then ask the server to delay our mains. The server delayed firing our mains but when they arrived they were warm not hot. Food was good but not great.
We enjoyed our lunch here. The only complaint was that the taramasalata tasted way too fishy. Everything else was excellent. The octopus in the octopus salad was very tender and tasty. The dressing on the frisee was a little watery, but at least it was light. My husband said his chicken souvlaki was very good too. The pita and tzatziki were good, and even the iced tea was good (I am very picky about iced tea!). The service was a little slow, but the ambiance was excellent. Nice and quiet so we could catch up with friends.
The food was delicious and filling . Love their warm and inviting ambience , servers are very attentive , welcoming and super friendly. We ordered octopus and prawns . Tons of flavor... lots of appetizers to choose from. Enjoyed my experience and will return for sure!
Great dirty martini to start, exceptional zucchini cakes, octopus outstanding. Sat outdoors on a nice day. Excellent experience.
I enjoyed a lovely lunch though it was quite empty. Not sure how quiet it would be with more patrons.
I always have an amazing experience here. The owner and the staff are excellent and the food is high-quality and well prepared
Sorry, don't like to leave poor feedback, but this was far from what we expected. The food was just not good. 5/6 dishes we ordered were somewhere between plain and dry. You can do better!
Beautiful place. Ambience is really relaxing. My friend was late to dinner and I enjoyed just being in the vibe. Food is amazing and service is attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Hoping it was just an off day our table and the two tables around us sat for almost 15 minutes and all of us had to ask to see our waiter. Since this took a while we also ordered appetizers at the same time as our drinks. Apps came, 25 minutes later and asking again we got our cocktails. Finally after ordering our mains did the "service" start to actually resemble a restaurant. Generally the food was good but clearly something was off with the staff on this visit.
Outstanding food, busy sidewalk dining and staff seemed confused a bit. But nothing that would keep us from returning.
We just enjoyed the nice service, good fresh food, whole fish, zucchini cakes, mezza, watermelon salad, and nice ambience.
Excellent dinner, with Greek salad, lamb chops, and Cabernet Sauvignon wine from Greece. Very nice service.
Disappointing Experience - Avoid This Place I recently had the misfortune of dining at this restaurant, and I must say it was a total letdown. The food was just average, but what really stood out was the dry, overcooked chicken. It was like they forgot to season it or something. But the real kicker was the ambiance. It was a sweltering hot night, and you'd think they'd have the decency to keep the heaters off. Nope! They cranked them up full blast, making us feel like we were being toasted alive. It was ridiculously uncomfortable. And if that wasn't enough, they had the nerve to charge us for water without clearly indicating it on the menu. They kept pushing us to order more water, which felt like a shady tactic to rip us off. It left a bad taste in our mouths, literally and figuratively. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this restaurant anytime soon. The combination of subpar food, uncomfortable atmosphere, and questionable business practices makes it a place to avoid. Save your money and your sanity – go somewhere else. 1/5 stars
