I’ll start off this review by saying- this is precisely how I found this secret gem, I scoured for hours for best online reviews and yes, I actually do read them. So with that, I implore you to have the patience to do the same, or in the very least take a chance on this place, and I guarantee you, you won’t regret it!The staff are so kind and helpful, not pretentious as predicted when you look at the menu and location of a boutique restaurant.I will admit where I went wrong that evening was the rookie mistake of indulging in the fresh warm bread, I should have saved my stomach for the several courses that were yet to come. We turned the two hour evening into a four hour evening and no one rushed us!I recommend EVERYTHING WE ORDERED: the roasted beet and asparagus saladAvocado and grapefruit micro green saladRisotto with mushrooms and parmPan seared salmon salmon with potato and picked papaya and leek relish (so creative and delish), but I looked at the steak as well as the vegetarian dish and I knew there was no wrong choice, but yet I wanted to try them all. In this instance, I knew I’d need to come back with my girlfriends, just so we could eat off each other's plates and I could try even more. I’m a dessert fein as picky as they come and they nailed the warm apple tart with custard! We also tried the orange and olive oil cake YUM!!!Well, the secret is officially out, and it’s about Thyme people found this gem like we did! (Yup, couldn’t resist). Such a great name, why not?! Enjoy- and tell them Natalie sent you!! YOU ARE WELCOME :)

This was a restaurant we found on yelp because we were in the area. Never heard of it. Small cozy place with excellent food. Chef Winston was really nice to come out and ask us how everything was. Small menu but something for everyone sort of menu. We sampled many different apps and entress (4 of us). Succulant lamb, great crab cakes, very fresh salmon and prawns as well. Sauces, flavors all around outstanding. My beet salad was sooo good. Perfect amount of dressing. Beautiful presentation. Prices match the high quality and fresh ingredients. Very good service, unobtrusive yet server seemed to be aware the moment we needed something. Also quite casual which we like. We are there for the food and not the hoity- toity behavior. So we could relax (especially after a long work week). I recommend reservations.

Had an amazing dinner here. Promptly greeted by the chef, Winston. You can tell that Winston loves what he does, he prepared our food like he was serving his family on a special occasion. Had an order of mussels, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Best part was doing some of the bread in the juice, soaked up all the flavor. Ordered the steak medium rare, it came out juicy and tender, full of flavor, simply but perfectly accompanied with mushrooms and onions. Kat was our server for the night, Kat is a real treat. Entertaining throughout the whole dinner, explained everything beautifully. Definitely a place to go for an intimate dining experience.

Ordered the mussels & the spicy prawns... SO DELICIOUS!!! Super happy that we stumbled onto this place. Everything is made fresh and they don’t use anything from a freezer. Will definitely be back!

This restaurant offers a small daily menu. The appetizers are expensive (~$20) but small, ok-tasting but not anything to write home about. The main course dishes are also on the pricey side (~$30), which would be worth if they tasted special, but they didn’t. Despite the small menu and our early seating (only 2 other couples when we came in), the food did not arrive quickly. The only thing the place has going for it is that it’s quiet.

We had a private party using the whole restaurant. The food was excellent. They let us decorate their space. Their staff was attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant. Very good beverage selections, portions and quality of the food.

This intimate, quiet, lovely restaurant is a real "find," The food was superb and the service was spectacular - charming, friendly waitress who catered to our party's needs. Limited menu but everything is delicious!! Not to worry if you don't like (or are allergic to) the spice thyme. They don't put thyme in anything -- it's jut their name. Best salmon I've had in a while in Palo Alto!

Very sophisticated flavors and presentation, much more than you'd expect for a casual neighborhood place, which this is. The kitchen really hits it out of the park.

A thoroughly satisfying dining experience combining fresh ingredients expertly prepared in flavorful dishes and presented with genuine hospitality in an unhurried and unpretentious setting.

Our office's women's group had out annual fall dinner at Thyme. Everyone had a great time and was impressed with the atmosphere and the food. The service was great, except that we ordered food for a member of our party who was going to arrive late. This order was placed with everyone else's order. When the late member of the party arrived, her meal was served soon after she arrived while the rest of the party waited between 30-40 minutes for our food to be served. If it wasn't for this, I would have rated 5 stars. The rest of the evening was great and overall the staff was very attentive. I would definitely go again, but maybe not in a large group. It seems like they might have had some trouble in timing the meals so everyone got their food at the same time.

Wow the chef is brilliant and what a wonderful production he put together for our guests for a celebration. I asked him a week in advance to create a special menu and surprise us with his best. Wow!! He outdid himself with the variety of specialities he created. Just amazing. What a gem of a place! I wish them great success.

Great food, average service and below average drink selection.
