A true jewel hidden slightly away from the main University avenue. Came here with friends and enjoyed the food, the service and the atmosphere. I didn't realize that they have to close a bit early so I recommend to get there earlier.

The best part is a unique mix of flavors, we picked most of the available tapas options and loved them all.

Service is exceptional. Just being able to have a small talk with our server added a human touch to the whole experience.

Highly recommend Vino Locale for either romantic, business, or casual dining.

I was there to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vino Locale. I used to be a Palo Alto resident and lived in the same neighborhood as the restaurant. It has been awhile since I last dined there. I loved the roasted salmon and glass of brute rose from Argentina! Dessert was the Persian Cardamom tea served in a French press and Heavenly Crepes a la Mode. The live jazz music was outstanding and added a touch of class to the ambience.

Vino Locale is truly one of Palo Alto’s hidden gems! Tucked inside a beautiful old Victorian home, it feels like you’ve stepped into a cozy European wine garden right in the middle of Silicon Valley. I started with a wine flight and loved getting to try different varietals before settling on a gorgeous glass of red. The food was excellent — the baked sour cherry brie was heavenly, the gluten-free kale and mushroom ravioli was surprisingly rich, and the molten chocolate cake a la mode was the perfect ending.

The backyard patio is magical at night with twinkle lights, firepits, and live music. It’s such a romantic spot but also great for a relaxed evening with friends. The service was warm and friendly, and the prices felt really reasonable for the quality and atmosphere. Definitely recommend making a reservation since seating is limited. Can’t wait to come back!

Friendly, nice place with a good selection of wine. The service was great too. Food was simple and a bit generic, but it was nice to have some appetizers to go with the wine.

We were sad to see no musicians on Weds, but understand. We felt that the amount of food for the price was not a great value or all that special. We eat out a lot. We do know prices are going up fast, and are sorry about that!

Fantastic local place for outdoor dining. Laid back atmosphere, with live jazz music, great food and wine. Lovely summer evening out for my wife and I.

A beautiful spot with fresh, flavorful dishes and a well-chosen wine list. The warm ambiance and live music made the night feel effortlessly special.

This was our 2nd visit and was MUCH different than the first. Service was not good. Left sitting for quite a long while. Server wasn't good with the technology and had to go get others for help. Food and wine were good. Ambiance is incredible on the patio. Place closes at 9:30 and somewhere around 9:15 the server and what I think was the owner/manager stood near our table commenting “don't these people know we want to go home”. Wasn't directed at us but at everyone on the deck. I don't think that they intended for the comment to be overheard but I did hear it and generally this defined the “vibe” of the entire experience. Just seemed like we were a bother to them. Asked to have the bill split between two families that were celebrating daughters entering Stanford med school and were told no. The no really wasn't the problem but lousy attitude about that and everything else was. Place (at least our server) definitely needs an upgrade to their service skills and attitude. We won't be back.

Nice al fresco dining on a summer evening. I liked the casual atmosphere and the band that played was enjoyable (not too loud and a nice selection of songs...both familiar and new). The food was simple and well prepared, which aligned with our meal preference for the evening. There was a decent selection of wines. I would definitely return for a casual intimate dinner. Being a wine bar restaurant, it catered to the after work, couples, and adult friends crowd. I don't think kids would appreciate the menu or atmosphere.

It's been years since I've been to Vino Locale and wow has this place changed. The back patio area used to be grass and a few tables. It's now a very inviting place to eat with a great atmosphere . The food was really good. I had the sweet and spicy shrimp which was delicious. I ordered a virgin lemon spritz that was really bitter. When asked for sugar all they had was brown sugar and sweet and low. The waiter was nice but seemed a bit aloof. Will return again.

I absolutely love this place. The service is always friendly, the wine and food are excellent and reasonably priced (especially for Palo Alto), the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the live music is such a nice touch.

Warm, friendly, reasonably priced, and excellent wines & bites! This is a fabulous down-to-earth spot in a town that doesn't always feel that way. Plus, the mellow live music vibe rounds this space out to be the perfect destination for a glass or two with friends. Vino Locale is my go-to wine spot in Palo Alto.
