An institution with the best brisket in town.Small funky lil shack on Sepulveda you'd drive right by if you didn't already know it was there and were specifically looking for it.They have a lovely well appointed dimly lit dining room and the waitresses are nice and make effort to be charming in that comforting way restaurant staff used to be back in the day.But I'm going to assume most, like me, phone and simply pick up their order to take out.Mostly I assume to also like me maintain some sense of self respect.What with all the hungry sounds of your indulgence of the savory tastings feeding deliciously eating licking your fingers smacking your lips and what not... it's just embarrassing, shamelessly undignified... Not busy at all. I use to love this place with my dad. Feel like these years it changed a bit. The meat seems a little to fatty but the service was friendly and prompt.

It’s the kind of place that should almost require a bib! Beef ribs were huge! Pretty good lunch deal. I’d pass on the steak fries next time. Hope to make it back up soon to try the brisket!

Great BBQ and a hometown environment. Restrooms and sink for customers is outside which isn't ideal, but had a great meal and can't complain. I live in St. Louis and used to live in KC and have had BBQ in Texas and North Carolina, so my BBQ standards are high. Sauces are okay (spicy is best) but the meats were great!
A long standing rib joint with outstanding barebecue pork ribs. Consistently good with a great marinade for the ribs. Tonight, Feb 29, 2024, both the beef ribs and the pork ribs were the we have had in over 50 tears.

Found this place on when I was searching for the best BBQ place in LA. I’m not disappointed. The flavours of the Beef ribs, baby back ribs and beef brisket is amazing! Smoky and flavorful. Only complain is that the beef ribs is super tough and you’ll need to get your hand dirty to eat them. Around 30% of the meat is left on the bone as it’s too tough. But the flavour made up for the toughness for me.Atmosphere of the place is great. Super old school setup. Hidden gem.

I have been going to this place since 1981 there is a reason that it has been there since 1969 the food is great ? you won't be disappointed ! Go and enjoy everyone else does . I am now in the Mojave desert and get to the valley rarely however I go to this place when I can when I visit the valley . Ooh the beef ribs yummy and those BBQ beans and Mac salad and sweet potato pie ? for dessert !

Great BBQ joint. I grew up going to places like this in South Georgia.. the brisket sammich ? was awesome. Will be going back to try other menu items. An easy highly recommend.
