5pot recently opened up in pasadena. Walking by, we always wanted to try the restaurant. Boy the food is delicious. Our group got a mix of customized hotpot soups with bone broth and tomato soup!

Nice small hot pot buffet styles selections of self customize items and about 4 to 5 choices of base for the soup. I recommend original (mild spicy although not spicy at all) and the ice tea self served is pretty decent, the mushrooms, fish balls, and veggies are yummy, if you like it cooked til its quite soft. I prefer a little crunch to my vegetables not that mushy for me. Very friendly service and overall a nice spot to try. The portion size are very fulfilling and massive at about $15.99 I believe, a bit pricey than other hot pot spots. It's Pasadena so mostly paid parking unless you park across the street in free lot near Target or some street parking that are 1 or 2 hours max.

Was randomly craving for some after a long break from it.The place sure does live up to its good reviews. You just come in, pick the veggies, meats, and noodles you want, then weigh and pay. I bought a huge pot and it was worth every penny. All the ingredients tastes fresh and went well together.I especially recommend their tomato broth!

Unlike most other hot pot restaurants, this place is self-serve where you can pick any foods you want from an open counter, and then you pay by the weight of your food. Then, the chefs in the back make your hot pot for you and bring it out to you in a bowl, instead of having the hot pot stove on your table. The food, service and atmosphere are not bad, but... they don't have lamb or pork, the sauce options are very limited, and they don't have spicy mala szechuen broth. Overall, the price was decent -- 15.99 per pound of food, which came out to about 25 per person at the end.
Vegetarian options: There are many vegetarian foods to choose from.
Dietary restrictions: Since it's self-serve, you can choose to eat whatever you want.
Parking: There's nearby free street parking.
