Akbar Cuisine of India - Pasadena

Be aware that they don’t serve wine; Beer was warm, not refrigerated. Food was good. Overall service was poor, slow and staff was disinterested. I was a big fan of the previous Pasadena Akbar, but this one is a poor example of the previous spot. No soap in the bathroom shared by the neighboring hotel. Unlikely we will return.

So fantastic that Akbar is back in Pasadena! We had all of our favorites from 5 years ago: coco lamb and tandoori chicken. This is the best Indian food in Southern California.

This is Akbar's third location. We have visited all over the years. Last night I visited him in the newest location.

The menu is somewhat shorter than before but still rich. So was the service. The only thing missing was the expected hospitality for a repeat customer.

We stopped by for dinner tonight, it was 7 of us. This was my first time trying Indian food and our waiter gave us great recommendation, we really liked it. The food was delicious and the service was great! I’ll definitely be going back and highly recommend it!

Kid-friendliness: They were nice to my four year old. She enjoyed the food specialty the bread. She also had watermelon water.

Excellent Indian cuisine! Ample parking in the hotel lot next door, also underground. Friendly, attentive servers. Excellent variety of specialties, but not an "endless" menu. Mint kebab chicken, dirty fries, cheese naan, all sooo good!No beer or wine.

Love love this place! We had the Paneer makhani, Gobi aloo, Katchumber and Binarsi pillau for our veggie friends, and Chicken tamattar (our favorite), Lamb vindaloo, Cheese naan and chili cheese naan for everyone else.

Looking for good Indian food? DO NOT pass up this place, it's better than good it's amazing.

Family run business, they used to be in Pasadena and when they left we were honestly heartbroken. Now that htey are back do not let them slip away again.

Never a bad meal or service, our friends that come to town demand to go back here everytime.

As an Indian person from India, I didn't find the food to be exciting, frankly a bit whitewashed. Chicken tandoori definitely had food coloring, and biriyani was a mishmash of spices, not balanced. Though quality of ingredients is decent.

My favorite go-to spot in Pasadena. I always enjoy the flavors and spices. Happy they were able to return after quarantine. You get a generous portion of food for the price.
