This restaurant never fully recovered from when they closed down and reopened. Compared to how it was before, everything was still good, but nothing was exceptional. They used to have an amazing bordelaise, that hasn't been replaced by anything new, and the hamachi shooters are still good, but they aren't as perfectly balanced as they used to be. The prices also don't match the quality.
Maybe the waygu is their specialty, I got the filet and fries. I was hoping something a little more satisfying than your typical chains, for example Morton's. I am happy about the cotton candy and everyone was incredibly kind! However I asked for the steak medium and it came medium rare if you want to be generous with the description. It was bleeding... fully and completely chewy. I had to have it sent back and I can have a good rate steak, it wasn't that fine of a cut...
Always nice to return to Alexander's with the family. We've been coming here for the last 6 years and the feeling when you walk through the front doors is refreshing. They have the kitchen upfront and plenty of wine to enjoy. We enjoyed a couple of their house Old Fashioned each paired with the 8oz filet minion. Can't wait for the next visit...
