Always a great place that has the best lamb chops in the LA area. We dine out at Ulta eats often and have never been disappointed. Dick and Mary
I had the chef's special-spare ribs, mash potatoes and carrots. It was DELISH! Highly recommend!!
We always love this restaurant. It's such a hidden gem. Every thing we ate was delicious.
Everything that comes out of Chef Paul's kitchen is beautifully presented and delicious. Love the friendly vibe.
This was my first time at Altaeats and I will definitely be back. The food was outstanding and the ambiance just right for meeting with friends or a business meeting. I highly recommend this joint.
We had an out of town friend pop by and we didn't have anything planned for dinner so we made a reservation and everybody loved their meal. I had a delicious Caesar salad and beef Wellington. My husband had stuffed dates and duck breast. Our friend had a delicious looking burger. We are so happy to have such a lovely place to eat so close to home.
As always, a wonderful intimate dining experience. Our local favorite with easy same-day reservations, and a warm and welcoming environment & staff. The Caesar Salad, Seared Ahi, Chicken Breast, and Apple Tart were all exceptional. And the table side visit from the chef and owner, Paul, was the perfect finish.
This always be one of my top five!! Absolutely love our local gem with no outside building branding 😉 Beef Wellington, Scallops and Caesar Salad were DELISHas as always!!! Service was off last night, which not typical. Made my reservation three weeks in advance and I am not sure why the waiter asked if I wanted to sit outside when there were clearly 3 table choices throughout the night. In addition, I had to remind the waiter four times I had not received our bread we ordered.
As always we love our fav place to eat. I love everything about this place from the food, the staff, the chef and the location. As always... I prefer less music levels so friends can hear but that might be just because I am older and like quaint quiet.
We had a lovely dinner at Altaeats tonight. We enjoyed the short ribs special, and the always excellent Scallops. Finished the meal with a chocolate Pot de Crème, as well as the Apple tart. Nice meal, nice service, always fun to eat here!

Everything we had was delicious! Starting with the farmers market tomato salad, moving onto the duck and the scallops main courses to the apple desert. Beautiful presentation, yummy food and wonderful service. Will go back!!
Wow! My wife took me to this hidden gem last night, and it was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Alta Eats is a very special restaurant. In Altadena, near the intersection of Allen Ave. and New York Drive, this tiny neighborhood place would be easy to miss--except for the colorful umbrellas shading the street-side tables. The inside is sleek and modern, with just a few cozy tables, banquets along the walls, and a bar at the back. The food is simply amazing. There are always specials (last night it was mussels in two different sauces)--and the signature dishes are all completely different, thought through with obvious love and care (from lamb and pork dishes to demi-glazed duck breast to Mediterranean seabass and heavenly scallops). The arugula salad comes with strawberries and creamy burrata cheese--the perfect starter with an order of delicious warm sourdough bread. For me, this is a destination, special-occasion place. But locals come just to sip from the great wine list and nibble on appetizers. There's a flight night as well as occasional tasting menus. The staff is warm, attentive, and unpretentiously knowledgable about the food and wine. And the owner is an absolute delight. Having lived and cooked in Madrid and on the east coast, he's been cooking here since 2013. Angelinos are fortunate that he found his way to Altadena!
I call it the "speakeasy". There's no sign outside to tell you there's a restaurant inside. And it's a world-class restaurant! The food is delicious, the menu has something for everyone, and the service is perfect! Come and have a great meal in the speakeasy!
We have dined here since it opened and it is always terrific. Paul is a remarkable chef. The food is consistently excellent - it's fine dining and at a fair price. Thank you, Paul.
