I was curious how Boiling Point in SoCal measured up to the Bay so thought I’d try it since I was in town. The hot pots were definitely less flavorful and portions a bit smaller than the one I had in NorCal.
Service was ok for the most part. One of the younger male servers (Aaron) told me they “only had bar seating” available which was not true because there were multiple open tables. He also ignored me many times when I tried to place my order and said he “would be back” but never took my order. The other servers and cooks were amazing though, and very attentive and professional!

TERRIBLE MAINTENANCE, TERRIBLE SERVICE, TERRIBLE EVERYTHING. I can’t believe what happened when I walked into this restaurant today. I arrived at 2:45, placed my order immediately, and was told there was no rice. When I asked how long it would take, they said 30 minutes. That was already unreasonable, but since I was there, I decided to wait. After waiting 20 minutes, the waiter came back and told me it would be just 10 more minutes. Then, after waiting a full 30 minutes, the waiter returned again only to say the rice was still sitting in water because the worker FORGOT TO TURN THE RICE COOKER ON. Absolutely unacceptable. Never coming back.

The food was awesome, and the wait staff was incredibly helpful and thorough when accomodating me for my shellfish allergy.
The food was great and the service was phenomenal. The only negative thing was their tiny wobbly kids tables. It definitely felt cramped in there. Overall, a great place.

Not coming back. Apparently I wasn’t allowed to pull an empty chair next to me to put my things down—even though the restaurant was half empty and the chair wasn’t in anyone’s way. The waitress in the red shirt came out from the kitchen just to tell me this. That said, the rest of the staff were very nice and friendly. Food was only okay.
