This Boiling Point location seems like they don’t want customers. I arrived for dinner and got my ticket inside using the tablet they have to get on the waiting list. I was 3rd on the list. After waiting for 20 minutes and seeing a few parties leave, I checked on my place on the tablet and my ticket number wasn’t on the screen. Confused, I asked the host why and he said the numbers on the screen don’t match the actual ticket numbers. (Then why do you have that tablet?) Meanwhile, I saw at least 2 completely empty tables and 2 other tables that just needed to be cleaned up but the waitstaff were taking their sweet time and didn’t care to get the waiting line moving. I ended up leaving after waiting for 40 minutes.

A well-known Taiwanese hot pot restaurant, but the dipping sauce is missing something without the Shacha sauce. The pork blood is very substandard, but the mutton is good and there is a lot of it.

I came here years ago, but didn’t remember it being this disappointing. I ordered the miso and it was a hot mess stew. It had so many flavorful ingredients, but they all tasted bland relative to each other with a weird denatured texture. Like they had all sat there simmering for days. I expect ingredients to all have their bright clean flavors, but that is NOT what I got. When they came around with a kettle asking if I wanted more “soup“ it really put me off. $25 hot mess stew 🤦🏻♀️

Been a customer since 2019…this place just keeps getting worse and worse. Ordered the miso pot, came with no shrimp, the chef made up for it though so it’s all good.
Buttt the pork was dry too, as you can see from the picture. The meat quality you get here feels like a lottery draw, sometimes it’s great and other times not so much.
Ordered the milk tea + boba upgrade, came with pudding instead. The server took it back and second time around? Good news is it came with the correct topping, bad news the drink was so watered down it tasted like flavored water.
Update: they had our check wrong too😅
Decent pre-prepared hot pot. But the service was sporadic which left a strange atmosphere. A lot of people looking for the service team. Would recommend just going across the street to Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot for a better time.

It has been open in Pasadena for many years. It serves a small hot pot with both meat and vegetables, suitable for eating with rice.

Don't sit at the 2 person table right next to the door!!! The servers will forget about you. 2 other tables showed up after we got seated and they got their orders placed before us! Talk about lousy service, forgetting about customers. not worth the wait

Used to love boiling point. However, food quality has dropped tremendously. The meat used were clearly straight from the freezer and was not fresh. Quality of ingredients was not great as well. Seems like management may have changed.

The food tastes nice, the sauces are the best!
The place is pleasant, and the service is professional. My favorite place for late dinner or lunch.
*I wish the meal looked great and beautiful like the graphic photos in the menu and posters.
In general, I always have had great experiences here in terms of service and taste of the food and drink.

Boiling point sanitation punishes everyone who thinks they have a good stomach
Great friendly service.
Pleasant atmosphere.
Wonderful little condiment tray featuring a wide variety of spicy and sweet and garlicky flavors at the table.
I felt the food was a bit of a hodgepodge (ordered Lamb hot pot). It's like they threw anything they want in a pot. Clams with lamb? I don't know. No harmony. Just a whole bunch of stuff to impress I guess; create a sense of value. Wow factor.
Personally I don't know why my food needs to boil while I'm eating it. And smelling the gas burner below wasn't very appetizing so I asked them to turn it off.
Personally I'd rather do a real hot pot place as I feel like the flavors are a little bit more delineated and elegant. This is sort of like hot pot condensed together to appease a more fast paced lunch crowd.
