Went to Cabrera's for a late lunch on a Monday afternoon in February. The day was beautiful. Inside the restaurant, at 2 pm, there was no one. Even still, service was top notch. They turned on the music just for me. I got delicious Chips and Salsa as a welcome. The salsas were excellent. I ordered the Fajitas Combination, with steak, chicken and shrimp. When it first came it was very impressive looking. But, as always, there was a lot of peppers and onions and only a modest amount of protein. Perhaps overpriced, but delicious nonetheless. If there's one complaint I have is that ordering any two items would get me above $50, which is just to much to spend on one meal. I ended up ordering just one item as a result. #bechego

Taco Tuesday is $2 per taco for regular meats (carne asada, pollo, chorizo, carnitas…etc). Wednesday has deals too. 50% off certain items each month. Plays sports games on the TVs - Lakers last time I was there. Salsa/hot sauce is kicking! 🌶️Asada is a little dry, but the carnitas is good.

my friend ordered chimichangas & I ordered the steak & eggs breakfast. Hers came with rice no beans. mine came with roasted potatoes & beans, flour tortillas( corn tortillas are optional). Coffee tasted burnt & reheated. The Chicken Chimichangas were really good & filling she couldn't finish all three which were big. My Steak was cooked well done & was very gristly. even the steak knife had tough time cutting through it. Eggs potatoes & beans were good. I ordered a shot of Mezcal but was told the bottle I wanted in the display case was filled with water & they don't carry that brand,( so why show it?). I opted for a different brand $20 for a small shot of Mezcal barely a jigger. $6 for coffee $20 for the Mezcal, $8 I think for a negroe modelo $25 for the steak & eggs. my friend's meal was $25. they didn't charge her for the coffee because she complained about it and supposedly they made a new pot for her. the restaurant charges $3.00 and change for using a credit card regardless of what you spend there. Our checks were separate so she paid cash. service was okay. I left feeling I overpaid for what was a nominal meal. this restaurant might be living on an old reputation for great food. Or maybe we came on the wrong Wensday afternoon

We have been customers at Cabrera's in Arcadia, where we had an exceptional experience, and we decided to try out the Cabrera's in Pasadena. To be honest, it was a disappointing experience. The service was horrible. They weren't paying attention to the customers, didn't refill any drinks, forgot to bring key parts of a dish, took too long on dishes, etc. Speaking of the dishes, the food wasn't warm, and the waitress kept making excuses for her absence, not only for our table, but for the rest of the tables in the restaurant. We had noticed that all of the tables weren't properly attended either. We had get up to ask about the tortillas that came with an order of ours, and we had to go and ask for the check since they didn't bring it to us. Overall, this is not a place that we would return to, nor recommend.

The whole time our server was no where to be seen, we didn't get any napkins when we asked and no refills. Food was decent. Would I come again? No.

I came for a friend's bday. The 3 of us had a great time. Our waitress was excellent. The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive. The margarita drinks and the agua chilies were amazing. But the enchiladas needed seasoning. Chicken tasted bland. Also the plate doesn't need steamed veggies.
