It's my benchmark for young Ice cream shop. Great quality ingredients you can taste..i can feel the passion of ice making artisan, She highlights the ingredients taste profile. My summer go to is Buttermilk strawberry and Mint with cocoa nib. Very consistent product season after season. New addition of sorbet is great with additional of a hint of rose. The great thing of this shop, small artisan ice cream that source ingredients are the key foundation. It's very refreshing that someone actually care about how ice cream should taste like..Kudos!

Must visit destination! I'm so happy to see this business is still here and thriving. I recently thought of this store and remembered it as a childhood memory with my parents. No other place can replicate the lavender honey ice cream here. ❤️ Thank you for the nostalgia. I hope someday to maybe find this store in my new home town, Las Vegas, NV.

A word of caution - customers remember when they are treated poorly and won't come back.
We moved to Pasadena in 2017, so we've been here a few years. We went out to eat lunch, then wanted something sweet for dessert - we heard some good things about Carmela, so we stepped inside. My first impression was a very small place that had a sterile feel to it. The young man who was at the counter actually walked away from us as we entered. I told him we wanted to get some ice cream and he kept walking away. We turned around and left. We've driven by hundreds of times since, but every time we pass Carmela, we remember the horrible service we received. The store was empty at the time - I understand with service like this, it should be.
There are other places in town to get ice cream. Poor customer service makes it easy for us to choose another place and we've tried many others.
