I went by myself and the ala carte menu is limited. The fried rice was lacking flavor, greasy, mostly rice and eggs. The friend pork was also greasy and lacks flavor.

Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot offers an authentic and unforgettable Chongqing hotpot experience, with a rich, spicy broth that perfectly balances heat and flavor. The ingredients are fresh and high-quality, from tender sliced meats to a wide range of vegetables and handmade meatballs. Their sauce bar is impressive, allowing you to customize your dipping sauce just the way you like it. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the vibrant, modern atmosphere adds to the overall experience. While slightly on the pricier side, it’s well worth it for the flavor and quality — a must-visit spot for any hotpot lover.

I used to love this hot pot place and came back because I had such great memories from before. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. They now charge around $6.99 per person just to access the sauce and salad bar—which I’ve never seen at any other hot pot restaurant. It felt ridiculous, especially since there wasn’t much to choose from.

There were also some basic issues with the experience: no tongs were provided for handling the raw meat, which is a hygiene concern, and the seats were creaky and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, one of my friends ended up getting food poisoning after eating here and was sick in bed for three days.

It’s really sad because I used to enjoy this place, but after this experience, I won’t be coming back.

P.s Honestly, I think Haidilao is a much better option in comparison.

If you’re craving legit Sichuan hotpot, Qing YaoMei is the place to go. The broth is rich, spicy, and packed with flavor – just like in Chengdu! The beef tripe, duck blood, and handmade shrimp paste were all super fresh. Bonus points for the amazing dipping sauce bar and cozy atmosphere. 10/10!

This Chongqing hot pot tastes very authentic, and the more you cook it, the better it gets. I particularly like their crispy pork, which is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It tastes especially delicious when dipped into a dry dish. The price is reasonable, this is a store I will come back to again.

Solid hot pot spot! The space has rustic brick walls with retro Chinese posters. The fatty beef is sliced thin and cooks quickly in the spicy broth. Reliable spot for group dinners!

The decoration of this hot pot restaurant is simple but it has the feel of an old Chongqing street. The shrimp paste is particularly fresh, and you can taste the obvious particles of shrimp meat. It is very delicious when cooked in a spicy pot. The fatty beef and crispy pork that my friend ordered were also good. The crispy pork can be eaten directly or mixed with soup. The store clerk has a very good service attitude and will take the initiative to help adjust the heat~

The soup base of Chongqing Yaomei Hotpot is very authentic, the butter pot is spicy and delicious, and it tastes particularly Chongqing. The dishes are fresh and varied, and the service is very warm and thoughtful. Every time I come here, I am always satisfied with the food. It is one of the must-try Sichuan hotpots in Los Angeles!

I enjoyed this place. It was my first time at Chinese hot pot. You order via QR code to web app. You can keep ordering as the meal goes on... Need another beer or dessert? Add it to the app and it shows up at the table in a few minutes.

Food choices seemed kinda old-school Chinese. Lots of interesting options (pork brains, duck feet, frog) for the hot pot. Limited selection of bottled beer for $5 (TsingTao, Sapporo, Heineken, bud light, 805). We ended up spending about $35/person, after tip.

Dietary restrictions: wouldn't necessary go here for vegan... Especially with non-vegans, since every one shares the broth for cooking their chosen options. Not sure about the broth base, either.

Vegetarians could get by, though. There's a miso broth and mushroom platter and a veggie platter that would work. As long as you're ok with sharing the broth with meat options.

A lot more meat based options than veggie.

Kid-friendliness: Not necessarily kid friendly... Not anti kid, but not really the best choice for kids under, say 10 or so...

Wheelchair accessibility: Seating is probably ok for someone in a chair... Not sure they could reach the hot pot in the center of the table, though.
